In a remarkable achievement, Australian fast bowler Mitchell Starc went past the legendary Dale Steyn among bowlers with the most Test wickets, as he bagged a magnificent six-wicket haul in the second Test against Bangladesh in Mackay. The veteran pacer dismantled Bangladesh with a stunning spell, thereby elevating himself on the list of bowlers with the most wickets in Test history.

Led by Najmul Hossain Shanto, Bangladesh had a stellar start to the Test series, defeating the home team by nine wickets in Darwin. While the Tigers were expected to capitalise on their winning run and give Australia a run for their money, Mitchell Starc's magical bowling spell caught them off guard on a pitch with genuine assistance for the fast bowlers.

Mitchell Starc creates multiple records with incredible six-fer vs Bangladesh

After winning the toss, Australian captain Pat Cummins opted to bowl first. The decision proved to be a masterstroke, as Mitchell Starc began the proceedings by dismissing Shadman Islam for a duck on the very first delivery of the match.

In his next over, Starc sent in-form opener Tanzid Hasan packing for a duck before trapping Najmul Hossain Shanto plumb in front of the stumps in his next delivery. He further went on to remove Mominul Haque and Litton Das in consecutive overs, thereby completing his fifer in just 22 deliveries.

Shoriful Islam was the final victim of Starc, as the pacer finished his spell with exceptional figures of 6/12. As a result, Bangladesh were bowled out for 64, their fourth-lowest team total in Test history.
