The Indian domestic season 2026-27 is set to kick off with the Duleep Trophy in Bengaluru on Sunday, August 23.
The Duleep Trophy 2026, followed by the Irani Cup and the Ranji Trophy, will be closely monitored as it will set the tone for India’s path to next year’s World Test Championship final, and the Border-Gavaskar Trophy at home in January-February.
The 63rd edition of the coveted red-ball tournament carries significant international weight across all six teams. Names like India Test captain Shubman Gill, Rajat Patidar, Tilak Varma, and Indian prodigy Vaibhav Sooryavanshi are among the biggest in their respective zonal squads.

Duleep Trophy 2026 venue
The upcoming Duleep Trophy edition is scheduled to be played at the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru, with a late change to the final venue.

While the tournament’s early rounds, including the semi-final, remain in Bengaluru, the final has been shifted to Chennai's MA Chidambaram Stadium. The move has been made to allow spectators to attend the title clash.

In a press release by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on August 19, Secretary Devajit Saikia emphasised the importance of this first-class event in the Indian cricket calendar. Talking about the tournament’s rich legacy, he also mentioned the quality of cricket the fans want to watch.
Thus, the apex body of cricket in India, the BCCI, has increased live coverage of the coveted event. Saikia stated in the press release that all matches will be streamed live, including coverage of one quarter-final, one semi-final, and the final.
Fans can watch the 2026 Duleep Trophy on Star Sports on TV, while matches will also be live-streamed on Jio Hotstar.
