After a dominant victory over Afghanistan in the one-off Test at Mullanpur, India will now shift their attention to the ODI format. The Men in Blue are set to face Afghanistan in a three-match ODI series, starting on June 13.

The first ODI will be played at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) Stadium in Dharamsala. The second match is scheduled for June 17 in Lucknow, while the final ODI will take place at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on June 20.

With several senior players unavailable for the series, the spotlight will be firmly on Rohit Sharma. Star batter Virat Kohli will miss the series, while Hardik Pandya has been ruled out due to injury.

It is vital to note that Rohit recently faced fitness concerns after suffering a hamstring injury during IPL 2026.

The experienced opener missed several matches for Mumbai Indians and was mainly used as an Impact Substitute during the latter stages of the tournament.

However, he received medical clearance just days before the ODI series and is now ready to return to international action.

As Rohit Sharma prepares for IND vs AFG ODIs, there will be plenty of attention on both his form and fitness.

In this article, let’s take a look at the records Rohit Sharma could break during the three-match ODI series against Afghanistan.

First Ever Indian Batter To Get 2 Centuries vs AFG In ODIs

India captain Rohit Sharma has a golden opportunity to create a unique record in ODIs.

If Rohit scores at least a single century in the upcoming India vs Afghanistan ODIs, he will become the first Indian batter ever to score two ODI centuries against Afghanistan. No other Indian batter has achieved this feat so far.

Rohit's first century against Afghanistan came during the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup match between India and Afghanistan on October 11, 2023, at the iconic Arun Jaitley Stadium.
