India made a mockery of a T20 World Cup semi-final against England, piling up 253/7 on the board after being asked to bat first at Wankhede Stadium. No team has ever scored that much in a T20 World Cup knockout game, as Jofra Archer and his boys seemed helpless and defeated while bowling at Sanju Samson, Ishan Kishan, Shivam Dube, and Hardik Pandya, among others.

Batting first, India lost Abhishek Sharma early, as Will Jacks struck early to silence a jam-packed Wankhede crowd. However, Ishan Kishan did not slow down at all, and Sanju Samson went berserk while setting the stage on fire.

Coming at No. 4 in a surprising manner, Shivam Dube went all guns blazing to counter the English spin attack. The ploy worked successfully, as Dube made 43 off just 25 balls before losing his wicket in a runout fashion for a record third time in the ongoing edition.

Captain Suryakumar Yadav did not last long, making 11 off just five deliveries, but Tilak Varma and Hardik Pandya played breezy cameos to take India to a record total.

England On Back Foot After Phil Salt Wicket

Coming to chase, England got off to a horrible start, as Phil Salt returned to the pavilion as early as during the second over of England's innings. Hardik Pandya drew the first blood, as Salt could only manage 5 off 3 deliveries.

At the time of writing this, England are 38/1 after four overs, with Jos Buttler making 25* off just 16 balls. Captain Harry Brook is in the middle, on 7* off 5 balls, as England require something special from both of them to pull off a miracle.
