On Wednesday, India reached a new low in T20Is as the Men in Blue suffered their biggest-ever defeat in T20Is. Notably, the Shreyas Iyer-led side suffered a 125-run defeat, which drew heavy criticism towards the captain and also Gautam Gambhir.
Notably, England, batting first, put 201 runs on the board, courtesy of Phil Salt’s 70-run knock. In reply, India lost wickets at regular intervals and collapsed for just 72 runs, their 2nd-lowest total in T20Is.
India Suffer Biggest Ever Defeats In T20Is
Not only was it India’s 2nd-lowest T20I total, but also their biggest ever defeat in the shortest format of the game. Prior to this match, India’s biggest margin of defeat in a T20I match was 80 runs. On February 6, 2019, New Zealand defeated India by 80 runs in Wellington.
