Rajasthan Royals skipper Riyan Parag soared back into form with a cracking knock against the Delhi Capitals in match number 43 of the IPL 2026 season. Having faced much criticism for his ‘vaping’ episode earlier this week, the underfire cricketer whacked eight boundaries and five huge sixes to chart a sizzling 90 from just 50 balls at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.
Responding to his critics in style, Parag earned much adulations and even apologies from fans on social media after his counterattacking innings. Several fans took to X and praised the dashing middle-order batter for his brisk knock against the likes of a raging Mitchell Starc and others.

Riyan Parag minted 90 runs from just 50 balls at a staggering strike rate of 180. Batting at number four, the cricketer arrived at the crease following the loss of both openers at a precarious 12-2.
The skipper responded back with a counterattacking sequence of eight boundaries and five huge sixes as the Royals stormed to 168-5 in less than 17 overs by the time of his dismissal.

Putting his recent setbacks and the ‘vaping’ episode behind, the 24-year-old was subjected to much admirations from fans on social media. Several Indian cricket and Rajasthan Royals fans took to X and jokingly issued an ‘apology note’ to the dazzling middle-order batter for their past criticism.

Riyan Parag punished by BCCI for vaping incident
Earlier this week during an IPL 2026 game between the Rajasthan Royals and Punjab Kings in New Chandigarh, Riyan Parag was caught live on camera as he was ‘vaping’ in the dressing room. Since the use of e-cigarettes has been banned in the country by the Indian government, the cricketer coped much criticism from fans and experts alike.

A couple of days later, the Rajasthan Royals skipper was even penalized by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for his misconduct. The board slapped a fine of 25 percent of the cricketer’s match fees as he was found to have breached Article 2.21 of the IPL Code of Conduct, which pertains to a “conduct that brings the game into disrepute.”
Rajasthan Royals lift from 12-2 to 225-6
Charting his first half-century of the IPL 2026 season following a string of underwhelming performances, Riyan Parag’s fiery knock catapulted the Rajasthan Royals to a monumental 225-6 in 20 overs.
Dhruv Jurel composed 42 from 30 balls, and Donovan Ferreira blasted 47* runs off just 14 deliveries with two boundaries and six sixes.
For the Delhi Capitals, comeback man Mitchell Starc unfurled the spell of the high-scoring innings with figures of 3-40.
