Despite being dismantled for their lowest-ever total in recorded T20I cricket, Riaz believes Pakistan still possess the qualities required to go all the way and lift the trophy.Arch-rivals India and Pakistan clashed in their second Group A fixture at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Saturday, September 5. The Women in Blue thrashed their opponents, chasing a paltry 56-run target inside only nine overs. Despite the horrendous defeat, Riaz backed Pakistan Women to bounce back and tagged them as the best side in the competition. However, his remark was massively bashed by fans from both the nations in a hilarious and sarcastic way.Wahab Riaz calls Pakistan best team in Women's Asia Cup; Gets TrolledThe defeat against India exposed serious problems in Pakistan Women's batting unit, with the team unable to build even a semblance of a competitive total. India, meanwhile, made light work of the chase and wrapped up the game in 8.4 overs with seven wickets to spare. The result gave Harmanpreet Kaur's side their third consecutive victory and helped them qualify for the semifinal of the Women's Asia Cup 2026. Pakistan's situation is considerably more complicated, but Riaz remained confident that his side can turn things around.“I believe that all the players in our team are very skilful, and they just need to trust themselves. Our next match is against Hong Kong. We will go back and discuss what we did wrong against India. We won’t commit the same mistakes. I still believe Pakistan is the best side in this Asia Cup to lift the trophy because the conditions really suit us,” Wahab Riaz told reporters after the defeat. Also Read- Match Fixing In Pakistan vs England? With their final league-stage fixture still to come against Hong Kong, there is little room for another slip-up.A defeat against Hong Kong could leave Pakistan's semi-final hopes hanging by a thread and potentially bring their Asia Cup campaign to an embarrassing group-stage conclusion. For a team that has faced a massive collapse, the Hong Kong game therefore carries far greater significance than it might have appeared before the tournament began.Riaz's prediction of Pakistan lifting the trophy can only remain credible if the side responds immediately. The players now have one final opportunity in the league stage to establish their dominance. Also Read- Harmanpreet Kaur Treats Pakistan Like Suryakumar Yadav
