The Pakistan cricket team has frequently faced situations that have ultimately led to disasters through self-inflicted errors, and the ongoing match on September 5, the India vs Pakistan women's encounter, saw a similar run-out dismissal caused by a massive error from the batter and the non-striker.
It is worth noting that Deepti Sharma, the India bowler, pulled off an athletic run-out to show Pakistan the mirror over their foolish miscommunication in the Women’s Asia Cup 2026 match. However, the run-out was not without an initial fumble, carried out by Deepti Sharma herself.

Miscommunication is pretty common on the field while running singles. Loud cheers and roars often deafen the players and affect their ability to hear on the ground. However, Eyman Fatima, Pakistan's all-rounder, suffered a fate that seemed almost like a wicket-throwing moment, much like what the Pakistan men's team has done on various occasions.
Following in their footsteps, on the first ball of the 14th over, Deepti Sharma delivered a full, tossed-up delivery to Umm-e-Hani, the batter. As Hani drove the ball towards short cover looking for a single, she signalled Eyman Fatima for a quick run.
Eyman, after reaching midway down the pitch, realised that Hani had changed her mind and turned back to get into the crease. However, the damage was already done, and there was too little time for Fatima to make it back. Bharti Fulmali collected the ball and threw it towards the bowler's end.

Deepti Fumbles With the Ball Before Completing Successful Run-Out
However, chaos emerged as Deepti Sharma failed to collect the ball cleanly. After the ball was thrown, Deepti struggled and fumbled with it, giving Fatima a few seconds to regain her composure and return to the crease.
As Fatima made a desperate dive back, Sharma regained control and dislodged the bails to complete the run-out successfully.

That left Pakistan in tatters as the team was bowled out for just 55 runs in 18.1 overs by India Women, with Shree Charani and Prema Rawat being the pick of the bowlers. Prema Rawat took three wickets, while Muneeba Ali and Shawal Zulfiqar were the highest run-scorers for Pakistan, with 13 and 14 runs, respectively.
What Are the Most Infamous Run-Outs by Pakistan Cricket Team?
Although this was Umm-e-Hani's brainfade moment, two of the most infamous incidents involving the Pakistan men's cricket team were even more hilarious.
In one incident, Salman Ali Agha had an unusual and controversial moment during a 2026 ODI clash against Bangladesh.
After Mohammad Rizwan pushed a ball back towards bowler Mehidy Hasan Miraz, who deflected it with his foot, the ball trickled away and stopped. Salman Ali Agha, who had wandered slightly out of his crease, casually bent down, picked up the ball and handed it back to the bowler as a courtesy.
However, as the ball was not technically dead, Miraz quickly snatched the ball from Salman's vicinity and knocked over the stumps, dismissing Agha.
Another of the most iconic and hilarious run-outs involving the Pakistan team came back in 1992 when Inzamam-ul-Haq, after a miscommunication with Imran Khan, turned his back towards his crease. South Africa's legendary fielder Jonty Rhodes sprinted across, dived like Superman and tumbled into the stumps to run Inzamam-ul-Haq out.
