The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are on a three-match winning streak, as they are set to take on the struggling Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in Match 59 of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2026) at the Ekana Stadium, Lucknow, on Friday (May 15).

Although the Ruturaj Gaikwad-led CSK is on a roll, the five-time champions have gone through turmoil in recent days by losing two all-rounders. Thus, they have penned Karnataka's Macneil Noronha as Ramakrishna Ghosh's replacement. Meanwhile, Jamie Overton has flown back home due to a thigh injury.

Heading into Match 59 of the IPL 2026, CSK punished LSG in their backyard. Despite Josh Inglis' gung-ho 85, which led Lucknow to 203/8, Chennai were able to chase down the target, thanks to Urvil Patel's blistering knock.

Ahead of the reverse fixture, let us look at the best-suited CSK Playing XI vs LSG for the fixture at the Ekana Stadium.

CSK Playing XI vs LSG, IPL 2026, Match 59

Top Order: Ruturaj Gaikwad, Sanju Samson, Urvil Patel

Despite a slow start to the season, skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad has returned to form, which has been one of the reasons for CSK's revival in IPL 2026. He will be a key player in the CSK Playing XI, especially if LSG offers a spin-friendly pitch.

Sanju Samson has been the biggest positive in the CSK Playing XI vs LSG. Chetta, as they call him, might have failed in the previous game, but he will look to punish the opposition in the reverse fixture.

We were all treated by a Urvil Patel special in the previous game. The swashbuckling keeper-batter was on course to hit the fastest-ever T20 fifty, and missed by a whisker. He eventually slammed 8 sixes, along with two boundaries, during his 23-ball 65 madness.

Middle Order & All-Rounders: Kartik Sharma, Dewald Brevis, Shivam Dube, Prashant Veer

Kartik Sharma has become a consistent batter since getting the number four position in the CSK Playing XI. Although the youngster could only score 20 runs in the last game, he will likely be a crucial player vs LSG.

Dewald Brevis has been going through an awful form this season. Despite that, the CSK management has been continuously backing the dashing batter. He will be retained in the CSK Playing XI vs LSG. Just like Brevis, Shivam Dube's stocks have only dipped, but the Indian all-rounder made waves while finishing the game against Lucknow.

With Jamie Overton out at least for the LSG vs CSK game, Prashant Veer's role in the CSK Playing XI exponentially rises. Although he hasn't bowled much this season, he will be key playing at his home ground.

Moreover, MS Dhoni is likely unlikely to feature in the CSK Playing XI vs LSG.

Bowlers: Anshul Kamboj, Noor Ahmad, Gurjapneet Singh, Matt Henry

Anshul Kamboj's bowling has been the talking point of the season. The fast bowler has single-handedly revived their campaign, and he will again be a crucial pick.

To assist Kamboj, Gurjapneet Singh and Matt Henry will be in the CSK Playing XI as the other fast bowler. Henry and Kamboj will likely form the new ball pair, while Gurjapneet can take over Jamie Overton's role with the older ball.

Noor Ahmad and Akeal Hosein will form the spin twin in the CSK Playing XI vs LSG. However, the latter will likely play as the Impact Player, given the bat first.

CSK Playing XI vs LSG- Ruturaj Gaikwad (c), Sanju Samson (wk), Urvil Patel, Kartik Sharma, Dewald Brevis, Shivam Dube, Prashant Veer, Anshul Kamboj, Noor Ahmad, Gurjapneet Singh, Matt Henry.
