Pat Cummins and some senior Australian players were reportedly unhappy with the salaries and contracts offered by Cricket Australia. However, the Australian Test and ODI captain has dismissed the claims himself.

As reported by The Age, Cummins, Josh Hazlewood and a couple more Aussies were unhappy with certain foreign players making more money in the Big Bash League than the Australian stars. Moreover, it was also reported that Cummins & co. want a guaranteed sum close to $1 million per player for BBL participation.

Thus, they apparently formed a union against CA to boycott BBL and are looking to request No Objection Certificates (NOCs) for the SA20 2027, which collides with the Australian T20 League, and the Hundred.

Pat Cummins dismisses claims of rebel against CA

To put all arguments to rest, Pat Cummins himself took to his X handle and lambasted The Age's journalist, replying with a savage comment on the journalist’s post about the matter.

"Everything you’ve written about me in this about SAT20 NOC and The Hundred offer is made up," Cummins said while shutting done false claims.

It is worth noting that the report also stated that the Australian fast bowling trio of Cummins, Josh Hazlewood and Mitchell Starc were each offered pre-auction signing fees of around $800,000 to play for the Hundred 2026, where four teams are co-owned by the IPL franchise bosses.

Interestingly, just like the Hundred, SA20 also has an IPL influence, with all six teams run by the Indian lucrative league's franchise owners.

CA looking to tempt rebel players with mega deals

Earlier in the month, it was reported that CA has offered hefty retainer contracts to Australian captain Pat Cummins, alongside his SRH colleague Travis Head and Test specialist Marnus Labuschagne, who recently captained the Hyderabad Kingsmen to the PSL 2026 final.

The report surfaced after talks regarding Australian stars getting offers from prolific franchises to become T20 agents by quitting Cricket Australia.

Amidst the chaos, CA has apparently been looking to sign lucrative three-year deals with the prolific players such as Cummins, Head, Labuschagne and Cameron Green.

CA’s delays may have strained IPL ties for Cummins, Starc

Due to a delay in Cricket Australia’s fitness clearances, the IPL franchises were forced to wait for the sizzling Australian pace trio of Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood.

Although the RCB paceman joined his squad in India after missing just three games, the remaining two missed almost half of the season. This absence might have affected their relationships with their respective IPL bosses a bit.

Despite coming in with injuries, Cummins and Hazlewood have fit in beautifully within the respective teams’ compositions. However, the dangerous Mitchell Starc has failed to revive DC from a topsy-turvy IPL 2026 campaign.

Delhi are on the verge of elimination, but Cummins’ SRH and RCB, where Hazlewood is a vital cog, will likely qualify for the playoffs. Notably, RCB and SRH are set to face off on May 22 in Hyderabad.
