The Rajasthan Royals (RR) started their IPL 2026 on a scintillating note, winning four in a row, but they have since only lost. The Riyan Parag-led side is coming off back-to-back defeats vs SRH and KKR, heading into Match 32 against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Ekana Stadium on Wednesday (April 22).
This season, RR became the first team ever to lose to Kolkata in their last outing. Batting the mighty Royal batting failed at Eden Gardens. Despite the opening of Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Yashasvi Jaiswal putting an 81-run opening stand, the middle and lower middle order collapsed big time, ending the innings on 155/9.
With the ball, the new-ball bowlers set the tone, with KKR crawling at 52/4 and 85/6, but Brijesh Sharma’s last over cost them the game, when Rinku Singh sealed the game by hitting 14 runs in just four balls.
Ahead of their seventh game of the IPL 2026, let us look at what the RR Playing XI vs LSG could look like.
RR Playing XI vs LSG, IPL 2026, Match 32
Top Order: Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Dhruv Jurel
The blistering opening pair of Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Yashasvi Jaiswal did their job in the previous game as they put 81 runs on the board before the dismissal of Sooryavanshi.
Although one can question the two batters threw away their starts, both Sooryavanshi and Jaiswal will be key in the RR Playing XI vs LSG.

After starting this IPL season with a bang, Dhruv Jurel has had two successive failures. He will be looking forward to this particular fixture, which is scheduled at his home ground.
Middle Order & All-Rounders: Riyan Parag, Shimron Hetmyer, Ravindra Jadeja, Donovan Ferreira
Riyan Parag has led RR exceptionally well, while his numbers as a batter have taken a nosedive. So far, he has scored just 60 runs in six innings, with a best score of 20. The RR vs LSG fixture will be a now-or-never kinda fixture for the right-handed batter to leave his mark after two back-to-back losses.
Shimron Hetmyer was benched before the KKR match, and the Guyanese batter also failed as the Royals collapsed. Although he is batting out of position, Hetmyer has to unleash his best as a finisher to stay to justify himself in the RR Playing XI vs LSG.
The way Ravindra Jadeja and Donovan Ferreira batted against Hyderabad was remarkable. The two couldn't help Rajasthan chase down the target, but they saved them from the embarrassment of the biggest defeat in IPL history.
The two mainstays of the RR Playing XI failed with the bat, but Jadeja bowled a ridiculous spell of 2/8 vs KKR.
Bowlers: Jofra Archer, Nandre Burger, Ravi Bishnoi, Tushar Deshpande
The fast-bowling pair of Jofra Archer and Nandre Burger has to be the most thrilling new-ball pair in this IPL 2026. The Englishman is serving as the spearhead of this RR bowling in some form.
In the last three games, he has been taking a wicket on the very first ball of the innings. Meanwhile, the Proteas quick is complementing Archer like anything. Thus, they will be the must-picks in the RR Playing vs LSG.
There is a mystery around why Tushar Deshpande hasn’t become a regular since winning the game against the Gujarat Titans. He has to return to the RR Playing XI.
Ravi Bishnoi, the former Lucknow blood, will look forward to taking on the LSG in their backyard. The leggie has been a champion bowler for the Royals, but he went for runs against Kolkata.
Bishnoi was accompanied brilliantly by yet another leg-spinner, the unknown entity Yash Punja, who returned with 1 for 25 on his IPL debut. However, there can be a toss-up between Punja and Sandeep Sharma.
