Ajinkya Rahane's Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) are still in the quest for the playoffs qualification in the Indian Premier League (IPL 2026). In Match 65 of the tournament, KKR will host the five-time champions Mumbai Indians at their den, Eden Gardens, on May 20.

After 12 matches, KKR have 11 points, so they can finish with a maximum of 15 points. If CSK, PBKS, and RR lose all their remaining matches, the three-time winners will proceed further to the knockouts

In their previous match, Finn Allen’s gung-ho batting approach, coupled with a Cameron Green special, took KKR to a massive total of 247/2 vs GT. The bowlers were able to defend it with ease as they won the game by 29 runs.

Ahead of this must-win game, let us look at the best-suited KKR Playing XI vs MI for the clash in the final game of the season at Kolkata.

Top Order: Ajinkya Rahane, Finn Allen, Angkrish Raghuvanshi

Ajinkya Rahane is leading his troops magnificently in the KKR's turnaround later in the IPL 2026. However, runs have dried for the veteran batter. However, he will be highly motivated to take on his former IPL franchise and some of his dearest Mumbai friends.

Finn Allen and Angkrish Raghuvanshi the sole reasons for KKR posting their biggest total of the IPL 2026.

The Kiwi opener slammed a 35-ball 93 and missed on his IPL century by a whisker. Meanwhile, the number three continued his purple form by playing yet another big knock - 82* off 44 balls. The two will be integrals parts in the KKR Playing XI vs MI.

Middle Order & All-Rounders: Cameron Green, Rinku Singh, Manish Pandey, Rovman Powell, Anukul Roy

Cameron Green has finally started to repay the trust invested in the big Aussie all-rounder. He is contributing both with bat and ball. This fixture will be a statement game, as he will play against his former IPL side.

Just like Green, Rinku Singh has been contributing to KKR's revival. The Indian star batter hasn't been dismissed in his last four outings, and he would continue to bat the same way to be in the KKR Playing XI.

Rovman Powell was left out of the KKR Playing XI in the previous game, but with Matheesha Pathirana down, he will get a go against Mumbai.

Manish Pandey has yet to bat this season, but the experienced batter will be a crucial cog in the KKR Playing XI vs MI.

Bowlers: Sunil Narine, Kartik Tyagi, Varun Chakaravarthy

KKR had the much-awaited boost with Matheesha Pathirana coming in for the clash against GT. However, it lasted only 1.2 overs, as the Sri Lankan got injured again and had to be taken off the field. It is highly unlikely that he would feature in the KKR Playing XI vs MI. Saurabh Dubey could play as the Impact Player.

The way Kartik Tyagi is bowling, he needs to be in the KKR Playing XI. His stocks have seriously skyrocketed in IPL 2026. Although he had an off-day against Gujarat, he will be trusted again.

Varun Chakaravarthy has been playing with injuries and niggles for KKR. The mystery spinner went for runs in the last game, but he will be playing against MI, alongside his spin twin, Sunil Narine. The duo are expected to lead Kolkata to victory in this must-win game.
