KKR's IPL 2026 playoff qualification scenarios [Source: AP]
The Kolkata Knight Riders returned to winning ways after a bump in the road last match as they toppled the Gujarat Titans by 29 runs at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata.
After being put in to bat first, the explosive Finn Allen continued his form and scored a 35-ball-93 with 10 towering sixes and four fours. His blistering knock was followed by Angkrish Raghuvanshi's 82*(44) and Cameron Green's 52*(28) to take the team to 247/2.
While defending the target, despite an injury to Matheesha Pathirana on his KKR debut, the other bowlers pulled things back after fifties for Shubman Gill and Jos Buttler and got the job done. Sunil Narine, in his 200th IPL match for KKR, picked a brilliant 2/29 in his four overs, while others played their part as per the plans.
With this win, KKR remain alive in the tournament. So, here's a look at their qualifications scenarios for the playoffs.
How can KKR qualify for IPL 2026 playoffs?
The Knight Riders had to wait for 6 matches to win their first in the IPL 2026 season. But the resurgence, led by Rinku Singh's back-to-back fifties, helped them to go on a four-match winning run. They faced a bump on the road with a loss against RCB, thanks to Virat Kohli's century, but bounced back against GT.
Having played 12 matches, they are 7th on the table with 11 points, with 5 wins and 6 losses. Now, considering the usual top-4 cut-off of 16 points, they are still alive in the competition with two matches left.
If they win both their remaining games, they can stand an outside chance to make it to the final four, but they will also depend on other teams to make this happen. Considering the circumstances, their chances are bleak, but it is mathematically still possible.
