IPL Players Who Can Be Poached By Rival Team Coaches In The Hundred 2026

The 6th edition of The Hundred 2026 is underway. 8 teams are competing across 68 matches for the prestigious title. The 2026 edition marks a special era because four of the eight teams have gone private and are now partially or fully owned by IPL franchises.

Sunrisers Leeds, Southern Brave, MI London, and Manchester Super Giants are the four IPL-backed teams in The Hundred with the same support staff as the one in the IPL. Similarly, London Spirits’ management is the same as RCB, who won two back-to-back IPL titles.

The coaching staff is the same for the sister franchises, but they have different players to manage, who actually don’t play for their IPL franchises. Hence, it is also the perfect opportunity for IPL coaches to poach players in The Hundred 2026.

1. Dewald Brevis x Dinesh Karthik

For The Hundred 2026, Dewald Brevis will represent London Spirit. The right-handed batter plays for Chennai Super Kings in the IPL and is one of the hottest commodities in the cricketing market at the moment. 

Brevis, known for his attacking cricket, is training under Dinesh Karthik, as the entire London Spirit management is the same as RCB. Karthik is the batting coach and the mentor, while Andy Flower is the head coach.

Hence, Karthik’s valuable advice and individual sessions with the Proteas star can certainly lure Dewald Brevis with the idea of joining RCB, who will aim for the three-peat in IPL 2027. Also, Brevis in the middle-order for RCB will make the batting attack more lethal.

2. Sam Curran x Kieron Pollard

For MI London, Kieron Pollard is the head coach, and he can certainly convince Sam Curran to join Mumbai Indians. The England all-rounder was part of CSK, but the five-time winners traded him to Rajasthan Royals to bring in Sanju Samson.

However, Sam Curran missed out on IPL 2026 because of injury. In the latest events, the all-rounder is enjoying the best time of his career. During the recently concluded India vs England T20I series, Curran picked up 13 wickets in 7 innings across formats.

He also scored 74 runs in 4 innings, averaging 18 with the bat. Even in the Hundred 2026, Curran scored 60 runs in the 1st match and picked up two wickets. Curran’s all-round performance is much needed in Mumbai Indians because Hardik Pandya is expected to leave, and they can trade the two. 

3. Justin Langer x Jos Buttler

Another cross IPL team coach-player duo to look forward to is Justin Langer and Jos Buttler. The former England captain is doing great at Gujarat Titans, but Langer can certainly lure him to join Lucknow Super Giants. 

LSG struggled with their openers in IPL 2026. The side finished 10th on the table, and no batter impressed the fans except Mitchell Marsh. Hence, Langer can bring in Buttler to open the innings with Mitchell Marsh. 

Notably, Buttler bats at No.3 for the Gujarat Titans, and he can get the opportunity to open the innings at Lucknow Super Giants.

4. Daniel Vettori x Nathan Ellis

Similar to Sam Curran, Nathan Ellis also missed IPL 2026 due to injury. He was set to play for Chennai Super Kings, and the Men in Yellow heavily missed his services. At present, Nathan Ellis is part of Sunrisers Leeds, where Daniel Vettori can help him to come to SRH for IPL 2027.

During IPL 2026, SRH found their momentum late in the tournament and missed one quality seamer. Pat Cummins is doubtful for IPL 2027, and Nathan Ellis can be a great option as he has a knack for picking wickets.

5. Justin Langer x Noor Ahmad

Ahead of IPL 2027, Lucknow Super Giants have learnt one thing, which is to strengthen their spin attack. Right after IPL 2026 concluded, LSG traded Kuldeep Yadav from Delhi Capitals. 

Ekana Stadium offers assistance to bowlers, especially leg-spinners, who love to trap the batters with their flighted deliveries. Hence, ahead of IPL 2027, LSG might look to add another quality spinner to their squad.

Noor Ahmad is working with Justin Langar in The Hundred 2026 and if he somehow pairs up with Kuldeep Yadav, then LSG will undoubtedly have the best bowling attack in the tournament.
