The India vs Afghanistan second ODI mostly worked in favour of the Men in Blue in the first half as Shubman Gill and Co managed to put up a massive total of 401 runs inside their allotted 50 overs.

However, what caught the attention was a hilarious and comical run-out that denied India the chance to play the final ball of the innings.

Featuring Prince Yadav and Kuldeep Yadav at the crease, the duo got involved in a mix-up that resembled some of the most infamous running blunders seen in international cricket, ending India's innings on a disappointing and avoidable note.

What Happened Between Kuldeep And Prince Yadav?

Prince Yadav was facing Bilal Sami and played a powerful slog shot off a short-length delivery. As the ball raced towards the boundary line, an Afghanistan fielder managed to stop it and quickly threw it back towards the wicketkeeper.

Prince, who was batting on the penultimate delivery of the innings, comfortably completed the first run and immediately turned back for a second in an attempt to retain the strike for the final ball.

However, Kuldeep Yadav was not convinced about risking another run in such a tight situation and remained rooted to his crease.

The confusion left Prince stranded midway before he eventually reached Kuldeep's end, leaving the bowler's end completely vacant.

By the time he realised the mistake and attempted to return, Bilal Sami had already collected the ball and completed the run-out. The dismissal brought India's innings to an abrupt end at 401 runs, with one ball still remaining in the innings.

The bizarre sequence quickly went viral on social media that also drew Pakistan's most memorable running mix-ups over the years.

The incident also deprived India of another opportunity to score a few extra runs, whether through a quick single, a boundary, or even a six off the final delivery, which could have pushed the total beyond the 400-run mark by an even greater margin.

India Marched With Confidence In 2nd ODI Led By Gill, Kishan

Meanwhile, for India, Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan were undoubtedly the star performers with the bat.

After Yashasvi Jaiswal departed early for just 4 runs, Rohit Sharma and Gill stitched together a valuable 87-run partnership before the Indian captain was dismissed in the 14th over.

Gill then took complete control of the innings and found a reliable partner in Ishan Kishan. The pair added a mammoth 224-run stand for the second wicket, putting Afghanistan's bowling attack under immense pressure.

Gill produced a brilliant knock of 154 runs from just 110 deliveries, while Ishan Kishan blasted 125 runs off 79 balls at a strike rate of 158.23. Shreyas Iyer also chipped in with a useful 26-run cameo to help India cross the 400-run mark.

Kharote Emerges As The Top Pick

From the Afghanistan bowling unit, Bilal Sami endured a difficult outing, conceding 90 runs from his 8.5 overs.

Nangeyalia Kharote emerged as the most successful bowler with figures of 4/67 from his 10 overs, while Rashid Khan supported him well with a three-wicket haul as Afghanistan were left with the daunting task of chasing 402 runs for victory.
