India is set to collide against England in the 5th T20I in Southampton, and for the Men in Blue, the game holds utmost importance as the Men in Blue are yet to win a single game on the UK tour, and a win here would give them a morale-boosting win.
The Indian fans are hopeful that their team could boost their morale by winning the toss, but in an unexpected turn of events, the IND Vs ENG 5th T20I toss has been delayed, and no, it is not due to rain.
IND Vs ENG 5th T20I toss delayed
England is known as a rainy country, but interestingly, the toss has not been delayed due to bad weather, but due to the fact that the Indian side is currently stuck in traffic, and they are yet to reach the ground.
The toss was set to take place at 6:30 PM IST, but by 6:36, the side had not arrived at the stadium. It wasn’t until 6:37 that the Men in Blue showed up, and they were met with huge cheers from the Indian fans. With the toss delayed, the start of the game could be pushed to 7:30 PM IST.
Usually, the toss gets delayed due to inclement weather, but it rarely happens that a team gets stuck in traffic.
IND vs ENG 5th T20I: Team India aiming to avoid embarrassment
Team India entered the UK tour with a new captain in Shreyas Iyer, and there was a sense of confidence as the side had won the T20 World Cup in March 2026. However, all that confidence was shattered as the Shreyas Iyer-led side has yet to win a single game on the tour.
A depleted Irish side hammered India in the T20I series as the hosts won 2-0, and dented India’s pride by making them crumble under pressure.
India was supposed to showcase an improved performance against England in the ongoing series, but after a rain-abandoned first T20I, the Harry Brook-led side have won three games in a row to take a 3-0 lead.
