Notably, the schedule for IND vs WI ODI series has already been announced. The 1st ODI will be played on September 27 in Trivandrum, followed by second ODI on September 30 in Guwahati, while third and final ODI will take place on October 3 in New Chandigarh.

If Rohit Sharma does not announce his retirement from ODIs, he is expected to be part of India's batting in the three-match home ODI series against West Indies.

The debate intensified after reports claimed that chief selector Ajit Agarkar and head coach Gautam Gambhir had informed the veteran opener that he was not part of India's roadmap for the 2027 ODI World Cup.

However, the speculation was quickly dismissed by the BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia. Ahead of the third ODI against England, Saikia rejected claims that the Lord's ODI had been earmarked as Rohit's farewell match.
He reiterated that the former India captain would continue representing the national team "as long as he is in the scheme of things."

How Did Rohit Sharma Fare In IND vs ENG ODI Series?
Rohit Sharma endured a difficult start to the ODI series against England, as the veteran opener struggled to find his rhythm in the first two matches.
Notably, he managed 11 runs off 21 balls in the opening ODI at Edgbaston and looked far from his fluent best. He then scored 26 off 47 deliveries in 2nd ODI at Cardiff. However, he once again appeared scratchy for most of his innings before being dismissed by Will Jacks while attempting a sweep shot.
However, Rohit made a stunning comeback in the third and final ODI at Lord's. With questions surrounding his future and India chasing a daunting target of 388, the experienced batter answered his critics in the best possible manner.
