The RCB vs GT IPL 2026 clash on April 24 took a hilarious turn when Virat Kohli went straight up to Gujarat Titans skipper Shubman Gill for a lively and friendly banter-turned-sledging.

While it was not the routine sledging war from the Indian maestro, it was more of a teasing for Shubman Gill, who was struggling to get strike from the non-striker's end while batting with Sai Sudharsan.

Virat Kohli seemed to have noticed Gill's frustration of not getting strike and hence came up to him to give him a slight nudge with his words before Gill reacted to it.

Shubman Gill Struggles To Get On Strike

After the Gujarat Titans came into bat, Sai Sudharsan took strike to face Bhuvneshwar Kumar for the opening over. Gill took guard on the second ball itself, however, quickly rotated to Sudharsan to score one run while facing two deliveries in the first over.

Sai Sudharsan was on strike when Josh Hazlewood came on. Sudharsan kept the strike until the last ball when Sudharsan got a leg-bye run after missing a flick onto his front pad. That forced Gill to the non-striker's end for the next over again.

In the third over, Bhuvneshwar Kumar again bowled to Sudharsan, where he played the full over, only in the last ball slipping it towards long leg for a single.

As Shubman Gill came towards the non-striker's end after a single, he was still on one run from two deliveries while Sai Sudharsan had already played 16 balls in the three overs RCB bowled.

Noticing this frustration, Virat Kohli quickly came up to Gill, sneaking in to frustrate the batter even more.

Virat Kohli Teases Gill In RCB vs GT Clash

As the Gujarat Titans vs Royal Challengers Bengaluru clash was reaching its peak in the powerplay overs, Kohli came up behind Shubman Gill to ask him what had happened.

Though there was no record on the stump mic, the gestures and facial expressions of Kohli showed that he was enjoying as well as mocking Gill's non-striker's curse, where he was at the other end with Sai Sudharsan playing most of the deliveries.

Virat Kohli was seen physically grabbing Gill by his hands and laughing into his ears while mocking the frustrating situation. Gill, however, responded with a smile on his face as he acknowledged the veteran's spicy words.

Nevertheless, Gill was stagnant without playing any ball after three overs had passed. Despite the rest, Shubman Gill's innings was not long in the match.

Gill was dismissed by Suyash Sharma on the fourth ball of the 13th over, as he attempted a towering six. However, it landed comfortably in the hands of Devdutt Padikkal, as Gill departed for a paltry score with a strike rate of 133.33.

This marked Gill's second score in the 30s house, as he has scores like 86, 56, and 70 in the rest of the IPL 2026, boasting an average of 49.50.

Despite this, Gujarat Titans were in a comfortable situation after the powerplay since they reached 57 runs. Inside 10 overs, Gujarat managed to post 104 runs in the RCB vs GT clash at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, as RCB bowlers were trying to contain the GT batting attack.
