Virat Kohli and his funny antics on the field never get old. And on Saturday, it was SRH captain Ishan Kishan who was caught having a moment of entertainment with the ex-RCB captain during the IPL 2026 opener at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru.
The match began with Ishan Kishan going berserk after Abhishek Sharma, Travis Head and Nitish Kumar Reddy’s early departures. The SRH captain was equally supported by Heinrich Klaasen, after they slipped to 29/3 inside the Powerplay.
Eventually, SRH closed on 201/9, with Aniket Verma smashing 43 off just 18 deliveries.
Virat Kohli, Ishan Kishan Having Fun On The Field
Virat Kohli was at his very best while chasing for RCB in their own backyard. Kishan, who was in charge of SRH due to Pat Cummins’ absence, was under a lot of pressure to turn things around.
In the meantime, Kohli changed the mood of Kishan while grabbing his chin. Even though Kishan was serious, the gesture from Kohli made him smile. No wonder the video went viral in no time.
Riding on Virat Kohli's 38-ball 69 not out, RCB got the job done in just 15.4 overs. They chased down a 203-run target with six wickets in hand, with Tim David playing second-fiddle to Kohli with an unbeaten 10-ball 16.
Apart from Kohli, impact sub Devdutt Padikkal set the tone for RCB. Padikkal, who came to the field after the incredible spell from Jacob Duffy, made 61 off just 26 deliveries, which had seven fours and four sixes.
Captain Rajat Patidar made a significant impact as well, scoring 31 off just 12 deliveries with three sixes and two fours. Only Jitesh Sharma and Phil Salt underperformed, but it did not affect RCB much before going towards the finishing line.
When Will RCB Play Next After SRH Victory?
After the six-wicket victory over SRH, RCB will take a good amount of time as a break. Their next match is against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on April 5.
After that, RCB will play Rajasthan Royals (RR) on April 10 and Mumbai Indians (MI) on April 12.

Virat Kohli Reaches New Heights In T20s
In the process, Kohli reached new heights in the shortest format of the game. Before the RCB vs SRH match, he only needed 29 more runs to get past Shoaib Malik’s T20-run tally.
And he crossed Malik with ease, and now, only Chris Gayle, Alex Hales, David Warner and Jos Buttler have more T20 runs than Kohli. In the end after the SRH match, Kohli ended with 16312 T20 runs.
Gayle, meanwhile, tops the chart with 14,562 runs, followed by Hales, who has 14482 runs under his belt.
