It won’t be an understatement to say that LSG has one of the best bowling lineups in IPL 2026. From Anrich Nortje to Mohammad Shami, the team has veteran pacers in the squad, and at the same time, the team from Lucknow also has exciting young Indian prospects.
One such bowler is the very talented, right-arm pacer, Prince Yadav. Even before the IPL season commenced, LSG fans were excited to witness Prince Yadav in action against the best in the business. He impressed everyone with his bowling in their opener against Delhi Capitals, but his best moment came against the SRH side.
Prince Yadav announces his arrival by dismissing Ishan Kishan
SRH took on LSG at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium, Hyderabad, and Prince Yadav breathed fire as he showcased his class with the ball, and ripped through the defence of SRH skipper, Ishan Kishan.
The wicket at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium has some juice for the pacers, and Mohammad Shami exploited it to perfection by dismissing Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head in quick succession. SRH were under pressure as Kishan walked into bat at number 3, and on a seaming deck, he failed to deliver the goods as Prince Yadav ran through him.
The LSG pacer was quick and ferocious as he bowled a length ball on the off, as Kishan went for a drive away from the body. The SRH captain left enough gap between bat and pad as the ball sneaked through it and cleaned up the stumps.
The entire stadium erupted in joy as the pacer delivered one of the best bowls of the IPL 2026. Immediately after the wicket, the right-arm pacer thanked god as he looked up in the sky.
Sanjiv Goenka's prayers answered
The LSG owner, Sanjiv Goenka, was also present in the stadium, as he, too, couldn’t hide his emotions after Kishan’s dismissal. Goenka may seem tough from the outside, and his man-management style may have come under scrutiny, but one thing’s for sure: the owner is passionate about his team.
Right after Ishan Kishan's wicket, the cameras panned towards Goenka, who was in the stands, with a smile on his face. Immediately, he brought out a photo of Lord Tirupati and took blessings.
In an interview, the RPSG Group Chairman and LSG owner, Sanjiv Goenka, stated that he carries a photo of Lord Tirupati with him, which he often holds during high-pressure IPL matches.
Goenka often links his business achievements to a combination of hard work, strategy, and divine blessing, highlighting a "blend of belief and determination".
LSG bowlers repay Sanjiv Goenka’s trust
Last season, LSG had a topsy-turvy IPL journey as their batters delivered the goods and scored a plethora of runs, but the bowlers disappointed as most of them were injured and kept on the sidelines. This season, Sanjiv Goenka continued to show his trust in Indian seam-bowling core as he roped in Shami in the mini auction.
Moreover, in Avesh Khan, Prince Yadav, Mayank Yadav, and Mohsin Khan, LSG certainly has the most exciting Indian pace-bowling prospect, and the LSG owner should be given credit for it.
In the first two IPL 2026 matches, the LSG pacers have repaid the trust shown in them by the franchise owner as they have wreaked havoc, with the batters finding it difficult to tackle them.
