In a significant development, a massive controversy occurred in the final minutes of the Delhi Capitals vs Chennai Super Kings match at the Chepauk Stadium. The heated moment occurred after Tristan Stubbs’ dismissal at a crucial juncture in the match.

Notably, Chennai Super Kings registered a 25-run win over Delhi Capitals and opened their account in IPL 2026. DC required 212 runs to win, and Tristan Stubbs was the last batter remaining in the chase. However, things turned ugly after his dismissal in the 19th over when Nitish Rana, David Miller and rest of the Delhi Capitals’ staff fought with the fourth umpire.

DC Unhappy With Umpire’s Action

Tristan Stubbs was the best batter as he scored 60 (38. Notably, there was a situation in the game where DC required 30 runs to win in 10 balls, and Stubbs could have pulled the unthinkable.

On the 3rd ball of the 19th over, Stubbs mistimed a shot and mid-off took an easy catch. As soon as Stubbs returned to the pavillion, Nitish Rana, Hemang Badani, and David Miller were seen in an argument with the fourth umpire for denying a glove change.
