IPL legend MS Dhoni has rejoined CSK, and fans are eagerly waiting to see him in action during the Indian Premier League (IPL 2026). This season may turn out to be the final appearance of the iconic player in the league, which adds even more excitement. 

As the tournament is set to begin on March 28, preparations have already started, and the atmosphere is becoming intense with every passing day.

MS Dhoni’s fun interaction with RCB fans

CSK recently began their training camp, and on March 19, MS Dhoni was seen putting in serious effort during practice. At the same time, a video surfaced on social media showing a lighter moment. 

As Dhoni walked out of the ground, fans called out to him for autographs. He noticed them from a distance and acknowledged their request with a hand gesture, indicating that he would meet them later.

Soon after, he spotted a fan wearing a Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) jersey. MS Dhoni responded in a playful way through gestures, pointing out the absence of a CSK jersey and smiling. The reaction appeared warm and charming, which reflects his personality and connection with fans.

Uncertainty around MS Dhoni’s future

While, there has been no official statement from MS Dhoni regarding his retirement plans. At the same time, sources close to the CSK camp suggest that he has not given any clear sign about stepping away. He has mentioned that he will take a few months before making a decision. 

Many within the franchise feel that he still has more to offer and unfinished goals with the team.

Even though CSK have faced challenges in recent seasons, Dhoni’s presence continues to provide stability. The team won their fifth title in 2023, and since then, consistency has remained a work in progress. 

A younger group of players is still settling in, and Dhoni’s experience plays a key role in guiding them. His contributions behind the stumps and as a finisher remain valuable for the side.

Another important factor is his improved fitness. Compared to previous seasons, Dhoni has looked more agile and in better condition in 2025. This has increased optimism that he can continue playing at a competitive level for another year.

Sanju Samson joins CSK squad

In another video shared by the franchise, Dhoni was seen interacting with Sanju Samson, who recently joined CSK. The move involved Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran heading to Rajasthan Royals. 

Notably, Samson arrived after an impressive Men's T20 World Cup 2026 campaign, where he scored 321 runs and earned the Player of the Tournament award. The interaction between Dhoni and Samson appeared relaxed and friendly.

CSK will begin their campaign on March 30 against Rajasthan Royals at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium. The team aims to recover from two difficult seasons, including a last-place finish with only four wins in 14 matches.
