Mohammed Siraj staring at Ishan Kishan (Source: @Ishanworld32/X)
Mohammed Siraj is known for being so competitive on the field, and that has given him plenty of success throughout his illustrious career. However, sometimes things go way too much on the field, and one such incident happened on Sunday during the Duleep Trophy 2026 final between East Zone and South Zone, taking place at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai.
Siraj, whom BCCI asked to play Duleep Trophy final following the end of India tour of Sri Lanka, went for too many runs against East Zone, who opted to bat first. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, in particular, tore him apart, leaving Siraj upset.
Ishan Kishan Vs Siraj Brings Heat To Duleep Trophy Final
Ishan Kishan, who has been captaining East Zone since the beginning of Duleep Trophy, faced Siraj for the first time on Sunday just before the 54th over of East Zone’s innings.
Mohammed Siraj began the spell with a vicious bouncer, leaving Kishan to duck the ball. Immediately after, he gave a death stare to Kishan before returning back to the place where he began his run-up.

It continued for a little while, and in between, they had an exchange of words, although Siraj was seen smiling while having the conversation with Kishan.

Nevertheless, Siraj and Kishan have a very good relationship off the field as well. It was nothing but frustration from India’s talismanic pacer, who conceded 96 runs off his first 14 overs without taking a single wicket.

Given that Duleep Trophy final is a red-ball encounter, it was a very embarrassing performance with the ball from Siraj, whose place in India’s current set-up for both ODIs and Tests have also been in danger of late.
What Happened Between Siraj & Sooryavanshi In IPL 2026?
Sooryavanshi was all over the place against Siraj in IPL 2026. For starters, Siraj plays for Gujarat Titans, while Sooryavanshi is associated with Rajasthan Royals.
There, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi made 60 runs against Siraj, who bowled 29 deliveries against him. The hammering included nine fours and two sixes, while Siraj had the last laugh only once in 29 attempts.
Things Look Bleak For Mohammed Siraj
Siraj has been going through a very rough time for India, particularly in 2026. In three ODIs, he has as many wickets at an average of 41.33.
Besides, he has five wickets in six innings in Tests in this calendar year. Therefore, given the fact that the BCCI has already started grooming Auqib Nabi and Gurnoor Brar for future, Siraj must perform on the field in order to keep his place in India’s set-up.
Moreover, even Prince Yadav is also in the pipeline, and Prasidh Krishna and Harshit Rana are already being there for Team India.
