As Webster came in to bat at No. 7, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, with his off spin, pitched a back of the length delivery at the off stump, which pitched and straightened immediately.
Beau Webster got the wrong idea about the line and length and completely missed it while trying to give a nudge to the delivery. As Webster missed, the ball crashed straight onto the stumps with Mehidy jumping with joy to celebrate his wicket.

Mehidy also scripted a record for the best bowling figures by a Bangladesh bowler against Australia in a Test innings. He became only the third player on the list to achieve such impressive figures, finishing with five wickets for 66 runs.

The other players on the list include Mohammad Rafique, who previously held the record with a five-wicket haul, before Mahmud and Miraz's contributions in 2026. Shakib Al Hasan follows with his five-wicket haul at Mirpur in 2017.

The AUS vs BAN 1st Test was completely dominated by the hosts with the all-rounder, Mehidy Miraz stamping autghoruty in the second innings. After Hasan Mahmud removed Jake Weatherald and Travis Head, Mehidy started the destruction by dismissing Steven Smith, Alex Carey and Pat Cummins, among others, which completely disorganized Australia's middle order.
His effective bowling helped Bangladesh bowl Australia out for just 284 runs, leaving them with a target of only 57 runs to win. Hasan Mahmud also took three wickets in the second innings, while Taijul Islam and Taskin Ahmed contributed with one wicket each.
