The Bangladesh vs Pakistan first Test match turned out to be a riveting contest, as the match went down to the wire, and both teams gave it their all in Mirpur. The series holds utmost importance as both Bangladesh and Pakistan are fighting to put their best foot forward in order to reach the WTC finals.
With the first Test match between the two sides still going on, the BCB has revealed the Bangladesh squad for the second Test match against Pakistan, starting on May 16.

Bangladesh beat Pakistan in first Test match
In a riveting first Test match, Bangladesh thrashed Pakistan to take a 1-0 lead in the series. The visitors came into the series on the back of a couple of unsuccessful home Test matches, and they were low on confidence.
The Tigers batted first and posted a commanding 413 on a flat surface. Century from Najmul Shanto, fifties from Mominul Haque, and Mushfiqur Rahim helped the hosts post a solid score.
In reply, Pakistan scored 386, courtesy of a brilliant debut hundred from Azan Awais. In Bangladesh’s second innings, the team struggled and posted 240/9, as Pakistan needed 268 runs to win.
The visitors failed to chase down the target, and the Shan Masood-led side lost the first Test by 104 runs.
In three WTC Tests, this cycle, Bangladesh has recorded one win, one draw, and one loss, and they’ll be confident heading into the series finale on May 16.
Bangladesh likely to play the same XI in second Test
With the Tigers clinching a famous win against Pakistan in the first Test, it is highly unlikely that they’ll make a change in the second Test match.
The management will continue to back Mahmudul Hasan Joy, and Shadman Islam as openers, and the side also boasts experienced middle-order batters in Mominul Haque, Mushfiqur Rahim, and Najmul Hossain Shanto.
Litton Das and Mehidy Hasan Miraz will also retain their place as the two can chip in with their spin-bowling. Also, the management is unlikely to make changes in the bowling department, and the likes of Nahid Rana, Taskin Ahmed, Ebadot Hossain, and Taijul Islam will continue in the second Test match.
