Despite crossing the group stage of the T20 World Cup 2026, Team India faced a crushing defeat in their inaugural Super Eight game against South Africa. While facing the strong Proteas, the Men in Blue crumbled under pressure as their batting lineup faltered heavily in the second innings.
Even though Team India struggled, ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah emerged as the lone bright spot. Coming to bowl in the second over, Bumrah secured an early scalp, sending Quinton de Kock in six runs. Soon after that, he dismissed Ryan Rickelton for seven runs, sealing a crucial scalp for the side.
After that, when the Indian bowlers struggled to stop the Protea destruction, Bumrah kept dominating with his sublime bowling. In the 19th over, he made his final mark as Corbin Bosch walked away, scoring a six-ball five. Team India’s semifinal dream hangs on next two matches
