The entire cricket world is busy witnessing the thrills of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2026, but PCB is grinding hard to make the 11th edition of the PSL grand. Ahead of the tournament, they unveiled a new franchise named Pindiz.
While PCB may have expected fans to love the name, the reaction turned out very differently. Fans slammed the board for the unusual choice, questioning their thoughts behind it. Some of them even suggested some other names for the franchise.

Since the PSL has started, the Pakistani cricket fans enjoyed some unmissable cricket actions as the league became the big stage for some sensational talents. But before stepping into the upcoming edition of the tournament, PCB made some extra efforts to take the excitements into another level.
But Pakistan cricket without drama is unimaginable, and PSL 11 is no exception. After the Multan Sultan owner stepped away from the tournament, PCB decided to run the team. However, following massive bids for the Hyderabad and Sialkot franchises, the board decided to place the Multan-based team up for bidding as well.

After Welee Technologies took over the franchise with a whopping amount of PKR 2.45 billion, it decided to move the franchise city from Multan to Rawalpindi. Despite the takeover, the official name of the franchise was on hold. Recently, the franchise name has been announced as it will be called the Pindiz.

While announcing the team name, the franchise might have expected a warm welcome from fans, but the reaction went the opposite way. Soon after the reveal, fans slammed the management for what they called a hilarious and bizarre choice.
They started questioning their choice by taking sarcastic digs. Taking a sharp dig at them, some of them even suggest a better name instead.
Some fans even slammed the Pakistan Cricket Board, saying it should ensure franchise names reflect their city and cricketing identity. The name revelation put the internet on fire.

The upcoming edition of the PSL is set to be grand, as the excitement is all set to be doubled with some new franchises. As the tournament is all set to go on the big stage in March 2026, the teams have already made a strong squad, aiming for a successful season ahead.
Stepping into the upcoming season with a whole new identity, the Pindiz made some masterstrokes. For a massive 5.6 crore, they directly signed Mohammad Rizwan, while Sam Billings, Zaman Khan, and Yasir Khan also joined through the same process.
Adding to that, Naseem Shah attracted the highest bid as the franchise named him with a massive amount of 8.65 crore. Adding to that, Rishad Hossain, Daryl Mitchell, Kamran Ghulam, Abdullah Fazal, and some other big names are set to add value to the team.
