Ahead of Punjab Kings’ upcoming IPL 2026 contest against LSG, left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh took a sharp dig at his fellow teammate Yuzvendra Chahal for his alleged involvement with an actress.
Chahal, since his divorce from his ex-wife Dhanashree Verma, has been often linked with multiple women. With rumours buzzing on social media, Arshdeep also didn’t hold back to troll the leg-spinner.
Arshdeep Singh takes a sly dig at Yuzvendra Chahal
For context, actress and influencer Taniya Chatterjee recently shared a screen recording allegedly showing Yuzvendra Chahal replying “Cute” to her Instagram story.
This revelation made headlines and spread across social media like wildfire. Apart from fans, Punjab Kings’ pacer Arshdeep Singh also decided to troll his teammate.
During PBKS’ latest travel day, Arshdeep playfully teased Yuzvendra Chahal in his vlog, saying, “Acha cute se yaad aaya!” This was a direct reference to Chahal’s ongoing “Cute DM controversy.”
Chahal, however, understood Arshdeep’s cryptic comment and reacted in a slightly awkward way. He covered his face, smiled, and jokingly chased Singh.

Yuzi Chahal files defamation case
Meanwhile, the DM controversy has escalated quickly as Yuzvendra Chahal has reportedly decided to file a defamation case against Taniya Chatterjee. The information was revealed by Chatterjee herself.
Reacting to this, Taniya told IANS that she has received a legal notice but claimed innocence, saying she only praised the cricketer.
"It was just a casual message. There is nothing wrong if someone compliments you. I still have a lot of respect for him. There was a discussion happening about the IPL, and he had just called me 'cute'. So through the discussion, this topic came out, and I had just shared it in a very innocent way. I did not try to defame him. I like compliments, and hence I shared it," Taniya said.
Also, according to the actress, the people associated with Yuzvendra Chahal asked her to delete the video. Overall, her stance is that she did nothing wrong and has been unfairly targeted since the video went public.
"I was also shocked. There is no defamation case here as I have not defamed him. I had just praised him, and I am still praising him. It is just a compliment I had shared in an innocent way," she added.

Meanwhile, on the field, Yuzvendra Chahal is busy in the IPL 2026. Playing for Punjab Kings, he has picked up 3 wickets with an economy rate of 9.77 in 5 games.
While his performance is average, the Kings are riding high, winning four out of the five games to sit at the top of the table. After missing out on their maiden title in IPL 2025, PBKS are looking strong enough to accomplish the unfinished business this year.
They next face LSG at the Mullanpur Stadium on April 19 at 7:30 PM IST. LSG are struggling this year with just 2 wins in 5 games, thus slipping to the eighth spot on the points table.
