His dating rumours aside, Yuzvendra Chahal is now bracing himself for a fresh IPL challenge. After impressing one-and-all back during IPL 2025 last year for the Punjab Kings, the cricketer was retained by the franchise prior to the IPL 2026 auction a few months ago.
The upcoming IPL 2026 season also gives him a timely platform to push his case with the Indian selectors through sustained performances.
The 35-year-old last played for Team India back in August 2023 during a T20I series against West Indies. While he was part of the Indian team that lifted the 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in the Caribbean, Yuzvendra Chahal did not received a single crack in the playing XI throughout the tournament.
A veteran of 72 ODIs and 80 T20I matches for Team India, Chahal has picked up 217 wickets across both white-ball formats, and played a key role in India’s 2018 Asia Cup win and a 5-1 ODI series in South Africa earlier that same year.
