In a dramatic incident, Blessing Muzarabani's team has called out the Mohsin Naqvi-led PCB for unfairly banning the cricketer from participating in the PSL.

Several media reports from Pakistan suggested that Blessing Muzarabani bagged a PSL deal after going unsold in the IPL 2026 mini auction.

However, the Zimbabwe fast bowler joined the KKR IPL 2026 squad as a replacement for Mustafizur Rahman, whose contract was snubbed by the BCCI amid India's strained relations with Bangladesh.

The PCB imposed a two-year PSL ban on Muzarabani, accusing him of breaching the professional code of conduct. However, the Zimbabwe speedster's managerial team has revealed shocking details, exposing the Pakistan Cricket Board on social media.

Why did Mohsin Naqvi's PCB ban Blessing Muzarabani from PSL?

The Pakistan media had reported that Zimbabwean fast bowler Blessing Muzarabani signed a PSL contract and was supposed to play the 2026 edition of the competition.

So, when Muzarabani joined KKR for the IPL 2026, the PCB accused him of a contract violation and banned him from the PSL

"Following a thorough disciplinary review, the PCB has announced that Zimbabwean cricketer Blessing Muzarabani is declared ineligible to participate in the next two (2) editions of the HBL PSL, effective immediately. This decision stems from a fundamental failure to honor agreed-upon commitments, an action that undermines the professional framework of the league," the Mohsin Naqvi-led cricketing body had stated in its official press release.

Blessing Muzarabani hits back at PCB after PSL ban

In the latest development, Blessing Muzarabani's managing team, World Sports Xchange, revealed that the Zimbabwe pacer didn't breach any professional code of conduct as he hadn't received the PSL contract when he agreed to play for KKR.

World Sports Xchange dismissed the fake reports that confirmed Muzarabani's signing by the Islamabad United.

"Blessing approached by Islamabad United about a playing opportunity for the 2026 PSL. Deal Agreed SUBJECT TO obtaining a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from Zimbabwe Cricket. Note: An NOC cannot be obtained without a contract from the PSL," the agency posted.

The agency further clarified the controversial incident in an Instagram post, disclosing the pacer hadn't even signed the PSL contract with Islamabad United, as the PCB had mentioned.

So, when the Knight Riders approached him, Muzarabani agreed to join the three-time champions and play the IPL 2026. Thus, as the agency clarified, Muzarabani's PSL ban is absolutely unfair, and the PCB must revoke it immediately.

"Islamabad United/PSL Announce the signing to the world via social media. 27 Feb 2026- Still No Contract Received from PSL/IU. Approach from KKR, Deal Done. Blessing was NOT DRAFTED IN THE AUCTION, NOT PROVIDED WITH A CONTRACT OF EMPLOYMENT FROM THE PSL. YOU SIMPLY CANNOT BREACH A CONTRACT YOU HAVE NEVER RECEIVED," World Sports Xchange revealed.

"We feel ANY ban on participation in the PSL is incredibly excessive and is not consistent with the punishment given to players that have actually breached a contract in the past. We urge the PSL to gracefully withdraw the ban and accept this situation for what it is, an administrative error at their end, nothing more. We bare no grudges toward the PSL/Islamabad United," it concluded.

Will PCB withdraw PSL ban on Blessing Muzarabani?

This wasn't the first time the PCB banned a player from the PSL for shifting his base to the IPL. While Corbin Bosch got a well-deserved sanction from the Pakistan board for violating the PSL contract last year, Blessing Muzarabani's case is entirely different.

Therefore, although the PCB has yet to react to the claims made by World Sports Xchange, the Mohsin Naqvi-governed cricketing body might take a U-turn and revoke the ban after being called out for its administrative failures.
