The upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL 2026) clash between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) has already created massive excitement. Notably, the two teams will face each other in Match No. 67 of the tournament at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Friday, May 22.

As the league stage reaches its final phase, every match is becoming extremely important. Therefore, the clash between SRH and RCB is expected to play a major role in deciding the top two positions on the points table.

SRH Looking To Bounce Back

So far, SRH have enjoyed a strong campaign this season. The team won seven out of their first eleven matches and looked like one of the strongest sides in the tournament. However, they faced a major setback in their previous game against Gujarat Titans.

Notably, SRH batting lineup completely collapsed and was bowled out for just 86 runs. As a result, they suffered a huge 82-run defeat.

Even after that loss, SRH still remain in a good position with 14 points from 12 matches.

Meanwhile, RCB are also enjoying a successful season. With 16 points on the table, the team is just one win away from officially qualifying for the playoffs. Notably, before travelling to Hyderabad, RCB will face Punjab Kings in Dharamsala.

SRH Hikes Ticket Prices Sharply

As excitement for the match continues to grow, the SRH management has decided to increase ticket prices heavily for their final home game of the season. Reports suggest that ticket prices have been raised between 50 percent and 110 percent compared to earlier matches.

Notably, ticket bookings opened at 5 PM IST on Friday through the Zomato District app. Within minutes, demand skyrocketed as the waiting list reportedly crossed 2.60 lakh users. Soon after, tickets were declared sold out.

Previously, ticket prices ranged from Rs 950 to Rs 30,000. However, for SRH vs RCB blockbuster clash, prices have now jumped to between Rs 2,000 and Rs 45,000.

Huge Increase Across All Stands

The sharp increase in ticket prices has surprised many fans. For example, the South First Terrace tickets, which earlier cost Rs 1,500, are now priced at Rs 3,000. This marks a 100 percent increase.

Similarly, upper-tier stand tickets that were earlier available for Rs 900 are now being sold for Rs 2,000, reflecting a 110 percent rise. Even premium corporate box tickets have become much more expensive, increasing from Rs 30,000 to Rs 45,000.

45006000

2300030000

It is important to note that one of the biggest reasons behind the huge demand is the presence of international cricket stars like Virat Kohli, Pat Cummins and Travis Head.

Notably, since retiring from Test and T20I cricket over the last two years, Virat Kohli’s IPL appearances have become even more special for fans. The star batter is currently playing for RCB and has been in phenomenal form. In 12 innings, Kohli has scored 484 runs with a strike rate of 165.

The massive increase in ticket prices has left many cricket fans disappointed and frustrated.  Many believe that the sharp rise in prices has practically made watching Virat Kohli from the stadium impossible for several RCB supporters.

Before the much-awaited clash against RCB, SRH will first face Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Monday, May 10.
