Legendary Indian cricketer Virat Kohli had a memorable game against Gujarat Titans, as he hammered a blistering knock to help RCB register an emphatic win. Batting first, the Titans scored 205 runs in 20 overs, riding on a sensational century from B Sai Sudharsan.
In reply, the Royal Challengers lost the crucial wicket of Jacob Bethell early in the innings. However, Virat Kohli's power-packed knock and a valiant half-century from Devdutt Padikkal ensured a commanding win for the home team.
While Kohli's flamboyant innings stamped his authority in the IPL for the umpteenth time, the legendary cricketer grabbed the limelight for wrong reasons through a controversial remark on Shubman Gill's GT teammate, Shahrukh Khan.
Virat Kohli takes dig at Shahrukh Khan's fitness
The incident happened during the 13th over of RCB's innings when Kohli was batting alongside Devdutt Padikkal. The duo had stitched a solid stand for the Royal Challengers, steadily powering them to a comfortable victory.
Kohli and Padikkal had settled in the middle, and Shubman Gill brought Afghanistan spin maestro Rashid Khan into the attack to break the partnership.
As Rashid bowled a full-length delivery outside the off-stump, Kohli drove it beautifully through the off-side and ran for a quick single.
Interestingly, Gill had removed Prasidh Krishna from the long-off after Kohli collected a boundary off the very first ball of Rashid's new over. The fast bowler was replaced by middle-order batter Shahrukh Khan.

As the second ball was driven through the covers, Shahrukh ran from the long-off and threw the ball back to the wicketkeeper before the RCB batters could run for a second.
Although Virat Kohli called for a second, Devdutt Padikkal refused to run, leading to an animated reaction from the Indian legend.
While Padikkal kept explaining himself, Kohli miffed at his batting partner, as he believed they could easily have completed a second run, considering Shahrukh Khan isn't a great fielder.
The veteran batter said, "Bahot dheere hai woh (he's very slow)", referring to Shahrukh's running. Thus, Kohli, who is a fitness icon himself, took a sly dig at the GT player, with his words being captured by the stump mic.
Virat Kohli-Devdutt Padikkal partnership that won the game for RCB
Chasing 206, RCB were rocked by an early setback, as Mohammed Siraj got rid of Jacob Bethell in the third over. However, Virat Kohli, who got a lifeline on zero, went on to smash an elegant fifty and help his team go past the finish line.
The right-handed batter struck eight boundaries and four sixes for an electric 44-ball 81 before Jason Holder cleaned him up in the 14th over. He stitched a mammoth 115-run stand with Devdutt Padikkal, thereby playing a significant role in RCB's fifth win this season.
Padikkal, on the other hand, scored 55 runs off just 27 balls, sustaining his purple patch in the competition.
