As the Raipur clash between RCB and KKR came to a halt due to relentless rain, soon after the rain stopped at around 8 PM IST, RCB star Virat Kohli was seen warming up with his bowling action.

The Raipur rain threat almost pushed KKR out of the playoff race and dented RCB's hopes of a top-two finish, however, Kohli's antics on the field brought a sigh of relief among fans and spectators.

Virat Kohli Seen Bowling In The Nets

IPL's official social media handle on X shared a clip of Virat Kohli putting on a serious face and warming up with his bowling action on the practice track.

The caption read, “Beware batters, a right-arm quick bowler is warming up.”

Although the camera was focused solely on Virat Kohli, after bowling the delivery, he put up his fingers in a dismissal gesture, indicating that he might have gotten the batter out in the nets.

As the match got delayed by almost an hour, fortunately, no overs were lost, with the full 40 overs set to be played. RCB won the toss and opted to field first. This has further added to the anticipation over whether Kohli will bowl in the RCB vs KKR match or not.

Virat Kohli And His Bowling Antics

"Kohli ko bowling do" is a regular chant in stadiums whenever Virat Kohli is near the boundary lines. While he has been one of the most prolific batters India will ever have, his hands at bowling haven't been tried frequently.

Throughout his career, Kohli has bowled in all three formats, Tests, ODIs, and T20Is, but has only been successful in picking wickets in the one-day format with his five-wicket tally and in the shortest format with four wickets under his name.

Kohli’s IPL Career In Bowling

In the IPL too, Kohli bowled and was successful in picking wickets in just two seasons, namely the inaugural season of 2008 and in 2011, as his total wicket tally in the IPL stands at four.

The last time he bowled in an IPL match was back in 2016, when he gave away 13 runs from his one over and he has never bowled in the mega tournament ever since.

Will Virat Kohli Bowl In The RCB vs KKR IPL 2026 Match?

While Kohli was seen warming up after the rain-marred delay in the RCB vs KKR clash at Raipur, a solid lineup has been fielded against the IPL 2024 champions.

Leading the bowling attack is Bhuvneshwar Kumar, while Josh Hazlewood, Rasikh Salam, and Jacob Duffy will also be in the mix to trouble KKR.

Hence, there is probably a very meek to zero percent chance that Virat Kohli will bowl in the RCB vs KKR match on May 13.
