Samit Dravid is currently playing in Maharaja Trophy. PC- X.comSamit Dravid, the elder son of legendary Rahul Dravid, is making waves on the internet. Playing in the ongoing Maharaja Trophy, the Junior Dravid has played a couple of stylish knocks for the Kalyani Bengaluru Blasters. Batting at number 4, Samit has scored three back-to-back splendid 30-run blitzes, all coming in winning causes. Quite recently, the stylish batter smacked a 23-ball 32 against Hubli Tigers before being unfortunately run out. During that outing, he displayed six appalling boundaries, which drew comparisons with his father and also with Shubman Gill. Samit Dravid showcased true timing, finesse and strokeplay in his short innings, where he scored boundaries all across the field. In this article, we will discuss three teams that could target Samit Dravid for IPL 2027. IPL teams who could target Samit Dravid1) Royal Challengers BengaluruRoyal Challengers Bengaluru are one of the most sorted teams heading into the IPL 2027, which is why they clinched back-to-back titles. As they have got everything sorted, RCB look like a team to beat. Although they don’t have any weakness whatsoever, the franchise may still go for Samit Dravid. Popular within the ecosystem for backing local players, the Junior Dravid may find an IPL home with the Royal Challengers. He may be looked at as a backup batter, but he will learn a lot about his batting under the wings of Virat Kohli, Rajat Patidar, Phil Salt and Devdutt Padikkal. Not only had Dravid captain the Royals, but the legendary batter also coached the franchise until 2025. As the Dravid-RR bond goes a long way, the franchise can go for Samit Dravid. Moreover, if reports are to be believed, Yashasvi Jaiswal could also leave Rajasthan, which would open the door for a player like Samit. Although he is batting at number 4 in the Maharaja Trophy 2026, his technique would allow him to bat in the top order as well. 3) Gujarat TitansGujarat Titans may have finished as the runners-up last season, but they had clear gaps in their middle order. The top three, comprising Shubman Gill, Sai Sudharsan and Jos Buttler, were in gun form, but the remaining batters barely won them any matches. GT kept experimenting with their middle-order batters, making a clear space for Samit Dravid in Gujarat’s line-up. Although the young Karnataka batter doesn’t bat at high strike rates, his style of play perfectly fits GT’s approach. Read More: Pakistan Player Gets NOC To Play For India Owned Franchise
