Indian young sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has responded to claims about an “AI chip” in his bat, and his reply has quickly grabbed attention.

The discussion began when Pakistani cricket analyst Nauman Niaz, who is known for his dramatic and often controversial style, made a playful remark about the young player’s incredible batting performance.

The comments came soon after Sooryavanshi delivered a stunning knock in an IPL 2026 match. He scored a century in just 36 balls for Rajasthan Royals against Sunrisers Hyderabad in Jaipur on April 25.

Although his performance was outstanding, Rajasthan Royals were unable to defend their total of 228/6 at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium. Even so, the innings made headlines, and it also led to unusual reactions.

Soon after the match, Sooryavanshi became the first player in the world to score two IPL centuries in less than 40 balls.

As a result, Niaz jokingly suggested that the young cricketer might have used an AI chip in his bat to generate extra power. Furthermore, he humorously said that the bat should be checked in a lab, similar to how doping tests are conducted.

During a show called “SmashHit,” Niaz expressed surprise at Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s abilities. He pointed out that the player is extremely young, and yet he plays shots all around the ground with great control.

“Think about it. What is this kid? Get his bat checked. Like WADA conducts dope tests, send him to a lab. He probably used an AI chip in his bat. He is unreal. What a player. I did get a feeling he was playing a tad slow.

This made me think, what is this guy? When you’re 18, your body builds muscle, biceps, and triceps. This one is just 16. He was born when Virat Kohli was a world champion. He doesn’t have the power game as much as he has technique. He is a wristy player, plus, if you look at this arc, he used the full 360 degree,” Niaz said.

Later on, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi addressed these viral claims after the IPL match between Punjab Kings and Rajasthan Royals in New Chandigarh on Tuesday.

In a video shared by Rajasthan Royals on social media, he gave a witty and confident reply. He said that “God has put something in his bat” and that he is simply using that.

In addition to his off-field charm, Sooryavanshi has continued to impress with his performances. In the match against Punjab Kings, he scored 43 runs from just 16 balls while chasing a target of 223. Moreover, he hit 3 fours and 5 sixes, and he added 51 runs in only 3.2 overs with Yashasvi Jaiswal for the first wicket.

As the IPL 2026 season progresses, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is also competing strongly for the Orange Cap. The Bihar batter has already scored 400 runs in nine matches, including two fifties and a century. Meanwhile, he is competing with top players such as Abhishek Sharma, KL Rahul, and Virat Kohli.

Furthermore, Sooryavanshi’s rise in cricket has been extremely fast. Earlier this year, he helped India win the Under-19 World Cup, and he also scored centuries in countries like England, Australia, and South Africa. As a result, he has become one of the most talked-about young cricketers in the country.

Looking ahead, a call-up to the Indian team seems likely. If he continues performing at this level, he could soon become one of the youngest players to represent India at the international level.
