Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is not just another young player creating hype in Indian cricket. Notably, at just 14-15 years old, he is already competing against professional bowlers and delivering performances that many experienced players struggle to achieve.
At the same time, while he is shining brightly in IPL 2026 with outstanding performances, off the field, he is still a normal teenager.
It is important to note that initially, his rise was not instant. During the first half of IPL 2025, he spent most of his time on the bench. However, when Sanju Samson got injured, Vaibhav finally got his chance. He made full use of this opportunity and delivered impressive performances.
He scored 252 runs in seven matches, maintaining an average of 36.00 and an excellent strike rate of 206.56. As a result, he quickly became a player to watch, and many people even began questioning his age.

So far, he has scored 254 runs in his first seven matches, with an average of 36.28 and an even better strike rate of 213.5. Therefore, his consistent performances prove that his success is not luck but pure talent and hard work.

Meanwhile, during the match between LSG and RR, Vaibhav once again made headlines. Even though he scored only 8 runs in that game, he achieved something remarkable. He became the youngest cricketer ever to score 500 runs in IPL history.
In addition to that, he also reached this milestone faster than anyone else in terms of balls faced. As a result, he broke the previous record held by Australia’s Glenn Maxwell.

He said: “Kuch nahin dimaag mein chalta sir, (nothing goes on in my brain. ) Aaj-kal bhi hum match se pehle cartoon dekhte hain, aadat wahi hai, but focus game par hi hai (Even today I watch cartoons before the match, that's my habit, but the focus stays on the match.”

Over time, Vaibhav has often been surrounded by controversies regarding his age. Many critics have questioned whether he is truly as young as he claims. However, his behaviour, personality, and such honest admissions clearly suggest otherwise.
In other words, his natural way of speaking and acting proves that he is still just a teenager enjoying simple things in life, even while handling the pressure of professional cricket.
Meanwhile, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi will now be seen in action in the Rajasthan Royals’ next match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Saturday, April 25.
