Shreyas Iyer scripts history with series whitewash vs Zimbabwe
Team India defeated Zimbabwe by 35 runs in the third T20I to claim the three-match series 3-0. The outcome helped captain Shreyas Iyer become the first Indian skipper in history to whitewash Zimbabwe.
The Indian cricket team also became only the third side in history to whitewash Zimbabwe in a series of three or more matches, joining the likes of Pakistan and Afghanistan. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi won the ‘Player of the Match’ award for his half-century in the game.

Yash Dayal switches to Chhattisgarh
RCB fast bowler Yash Dayal has decided to switch from Uttar Pradesh to the Chhattisgarh cricket team for this year’s 2026-27 domestic season in the country.
A recent report indicates that the fast bowler will soon be receiving his no-objection certificate (NOC). Dayal has already joined the Chhattisgarh pre-season training camp in Alur in Karnataka.
He started off his domestic career for the Uttar Pradesh team back in late 2018, and last played for them a couple of years ago.
Jasprit Bumrah doubtful for Sri Lanka tour
Indian speedster Jasprit Bumrah is doubtful for India’s upcoming two-match Test series in Sri Lanka next month. The cricketer is yet to recover from a knee injury which sidelined him from the final ODI of the three-match series in England.
Despite making steady progress in rehabilitation, the BCCI has reportedly advised Bumrah to rest till July 30. After that, he will report at the BCCI CoE to undergo a fitness assessment that will determine his chances of featuring in the Sri Lanka Tests.
Bangladesh name squad for first Test vs Australia
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has named Bangladesh’s squad for the upcoming series-opening first Test against Australia next month at the Marrara Cricket Ground in Darwin.
Young fast bowler Musfik Hasan received his maiden call-up as a replacement for injured paceman Nahid Rana. Najmul Hossain Shanto will lead the side, and he will be accompanied by the likes of Soumya Sarkar, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Taijul Islam, Taskin Ahmed, among others.
Abdullah Shafique replaces Abdullah Fazal in West Indies
The PCB has named Abdullah Shafique as the replacement for injured Abdullah Fazal for the remainder of Pakistan’s ongoing two-match Test series in the West Indies. The selection committee and the team management also added Saud Shakeel as an additional batter in the side.
Fazal suffered an injury during a training session, just a couple of days before the start of the first Test of the series.
