On Sunday, July 26, India will end their white-ball stint against Zimbabwe, and the focus will turn to the upcoming Test series against Sri Lanka starting on August 15. India are still alive in the WTC final race, but face key injury concerns, such as Jasprit Bumrah.

India are placed 5th on the table, and they are likely to name a strong 15-member squad for the Sri Lanka Tests. However, several players are fighting the race against time to be fit in time for the red-ball challenge.

Jasprit Bumrah Doubtful For Sri Lanka Tests

In the latest developments, Abhishek Tripathi revealed that Jasprit Bumrah is doubtful for the Sri Lanka Test and has yet to achieve 100% fitness. For the unversed, the right-arm seamer sat out of the 3rd ODI between India and England due to a knee injury.

The report mentioned that Jasprit Bumrah is subject to fitness, and he has been told by the BCCI to rest till July 30. Further, the MI star will report to the Centre of Excellence for the last stage of recovery and to get a green light from the doctors.

• Bumrah suffered an impact injury to his left knee while fielding during the 2nd ODI against England in Cardiff. He completed the match but developed discomfort after the game.
• July 18, 2026 – Medical assessment
• The Indian team medical staff assessed the injury. Bumrah developed reactive swelling in his left knee, making him doubtful for the series decider.

• At the toss before the Lord's ODI, captain Shubman Gill confirmed Bumrah's absence.
• "Jasprit Bumrah had an impact injury on his left knee while fielding in the second ODI in Cardiff. He was not available for selection for the third ODI due to reactive swelling in his left knee."
• July 24, 2026 – Bumrah Undergoes Scan
• Bumrah underwent scans, which reportedly revealed left knee soreness. He received an injection to reduce the inflammation. The BCCI Centre of Excellence (CoE) asked him to report for further assessment.
