Two unbeaten teams will go head-to-head on Friday as the hosts, Rajasthan Royals, will take on the defending champions, RCB, at the Guwahati Stadium. Both teams have won all their IPL 2026 games, but that streak will come to an end tonight. There is nothing to separate the two sides, with both heading into the game in red-hot form.
There is a great buzz surrounding the RR Vs RCB IPL 2026 match as the 37-year-old Virat Kohli will collide against the 15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. The two openers have done well in recent IPL matches, and it would be interesting to see how they perform for their respective sides, tonight.
However, it seems the fans have to wait a bit longer to witness the two stars in action as the Guwahati trouble-maker is back, with rain taking place in the city at the moment.
Guwahati Stadium weather update for RR Vs RCB IPL match
Accuweather predicted that Guwahati will witness rain on Friday evening, and the predictions came true as light drizzle is taking place, with the entire square covered by the groundstaff. The conditions are overcast, and as a result, the toss has been delayed.
As per Accuweather, the cloud cover is around 13%, and the rain could play a cat-and-mouse game as the RR Vs RCB IPL 2026 match could witness a stop-and-start contest.
Post 9 PM, the weather will improve, and the ground staff will have to be on their toes to make the ground ready for the RR Vs RCB IPL match.
The rain curse continues at Guwahati Stadium
The rain curse has been going around for the last three matches at the Guwahati Stadium. So far, three IPL 2026 games have taken place at this venue (RR Vs RCB being the third one), and in all three matches, rain played its part.
Ahead of the RR Vs CSK match, the rain god threatened to ruin the contest; however, the fans managed to witness the full 40 overs as RR triumphed over the Super Kings.
Then, rain once again struck before the RR Vs MI IPL match. It rained for more than two hours, and the overs were reduced as the fans witnessed an 11-over-a-side contest, with RR once again prevailing.
Now, for the third consecutive contest, rain is back, and the toss between RR and RCB has been delayed.

What happens if RR Vs RCB IPL 2026 match gets abandoned?
The Guwahati Stadium drainage system has always come under scrutiny, and even if the rain stops on time, the start of the play will depend on how the drainage system functions. If the weather doesn’t improve, and the match gets called off, both teams will be left disappointed.
In a washout game, both RR and RCB will get a point each, and that would take RR’s tally to 7, while RCB will get to 5 points from 3 matches.
The Rajasthan Royals will continue to remain at the top of the table after four games, while RCB will jump to number 2. Both RCB and PBKS will have 5 points each, but with the defending champions having a better net run-rate, PBKS will slip to the third spot.
