Rohit Sharma roared back into form with a thunderous century against England in India’s series-deciding third ODI match at Lord’s last week. Shutting down all retirement rumours, the legendary opener plundered 138 runs off just 110 balls to chart his 34th ODI ton, possibly in his final international match in England.
After the match, it now appears that Sharma presented former England captain Jos Buttler with a special gift, as confirmed by the latter on his social media account.
It is worth noting that both Sharma and Buttler share a great on-field camaraderie with each other, having being international rivals and also for their brief association for the Mumbai Indians franchise in IPL.

With Rohit Sharma nearing 40, the legendary Indian opener might well have played his final international match in England. The cricketer celebrated the occasion with a scorching 138 at Lord’s in London last week.

Rohit Sharma bows out of England in style, Buttler blasts electrifying cameo
In the series-deciding third ODI match at Lord’s in London last week, England mounted 387-3 in 50 overs courtesy of a Ben Duckett century and an electrifying 13-ball 41* from Jos Buttler. The legendary England wicketkeeper-batter launched four boundaries and three huge sixes in his slog-overs cameo.
In response, Indian opener Rohit Sharma belted 138 off 110 balls to squash all retirement rumors, and forged crucial partnerships with captain Shubman Gill and prolific run-machine Virat Kohli. However, late wickets for Sam Curran ensured England restricted India to just 360-7 to walk away with a 27-run win.
Despite India's defeat, Rohit left England on a high, not only with a sublime century but also by sharing a heartfelt gesture with Buttler that reflected the mutual respect between two modern-day greats.
