Rishabh Pant likely out of Indian Team vs Sri Lanka

Rishabh Pant spent the entirety of Day 3 of India’s series-deciding second Test against Sri Lanka in Colombo on the sidelines. With Pant taking time off the field owing to his shoulder pain, the cricketer was replaced by backup wicketkeeper Dhruv Jurel on the field.

After stumps on Day 3, Indian bowling coach Morne Morkel confirmed that Pant is experiencing severe pain on his shoulder and he will be assessed overnight by the medical team.

Prabath Jayasuriya punished by ICC amid second IND vs SL Test

Sri Lanka senior spinner Prabath Jayasuriya has now been punished by the ICC. The cricketer was found to have breached Article 2.2 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel.

The incident occurred when Jayasuriya hit the boundary wedges with his bat on his way back to the pavilion after getting dismissed, thus becoming the third player of the Test to get punished by the ICC after Yashasvi Jaiswal and Asitha Fernando. 

Joe Root “hacked off” after Brydon Carse handcuffs incident

England Test captain Joe Root has expressed his frustration after Brydon Carse was briefly arrested outside a bar in Derby this past weekend. The explosive social media footage led to an investigation from the ECB, and the board has since barred the fast bowler from the England squad for the upcoming second Test of the series against Pakistan at Lord’s in London.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi turns bowler in Duleep Trophy 2026 for East Zone

Indian teenage sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi may have failed to get going with the bat for the East Zone team in the 2026 Duleep Trophy season, but the youngster made an impact with the ball by picking up two wickets in quick succession against the North East Zone on Day 3. 

The cricketer claimed figures of 2-11 as Ishan Kishan and co. secured a huge innings win by 210 runs in Bengaluru. 

Babar Azam returns to nets before second Test

Babar Azam will likely make his return to the Pakistan playing XI in their upcoming second Test against England. The cricketer was spotted training in the nets, despite having suffered a finger injury in the warm-up match earlier this month. 

The Pakistan skipper missed the first Test of the tour, which his side lost inside three days to go 0-1 down in the series.
