England Test captain Joe Root has broken his silence on the Brydon Carse incident after the 31-year-old English bowler was detained by police outside a nightclub in Derby on August 23.
Root, who lifted an ECB nightcurfew imposed on the England cricket team, was left disappointed by the mistake made by Carse.
The veteran Test batter for the England national team opened up about the incident and his stance on Tuesday ahead of the team's second Test against Pakistan at Lord's.

Without mincing his words, Root expressed his frustration over Carse's incident, which also reportedly involved Ben Stokes.
Although the full details surrounding the nightclub incident have not yet been explained officially, Carse was briefly detained by police in the early hours of Sunday morning. Root subsequently made his disappointment with the incident clear.
“If I’m being brutally honest, I’m really hacked off, I’m really disappointed. After last week’s performance, we’re sat here and we’re talking about something that is not related to it at all. It’s not the isolated incident itself, it’s the fact we continue making stupid mistakes,” Joe Root shared.
Notably, Brydon Carse will now face an investigation from the England and Wales Cricket Board and the relevant cricket authorities. For the unaware, he has also been ruled out of England's squad for the second Test against Pakistan at Lord's.
Carse, who was playing County cricket alongside Ben Stokes for Durham, is also a centrally contracted England player. He was part of the squad for the first Test against Pakistan at Headingley and had been expected to join the team ahead of Thursday's second Test at Lord's.

Why is Joe Root angry with Brydon Carse?
Root's anger over Carse's incident is understandable given that he abolished the night curfew after replacing Ben Stoke, and asked his players to 'behave like adults,' expecting them to take responsibility.
However, Brydon Carse's involvement in the recent Derby drama has only aggravated the situation, particularly because this is not the first time England players have been marred with off-field controversies.
Over the last twelve months, players including Harry Brook, Gus Atkinson, Ben Stokes have found themselves wrapped in various incidents. Brook was reportedly involved in an altercation with a nightclub bouncer, while Atkinson and Stokes also engaged in a late-night fistfight outside a club, few weeks earlier.
What actions might be taken against Brydon Carse by the ECB?
As an immediate measure, Carse has been withdrawn from England's squad, with Sonny Baker called up as his replacement. Potential further actions against Carse could include contractual penalties or fines.
The ECB could issue a formal warning or impose a financial penalty, while a temporary suspension from international or domestic fixtures could also be considered depending on the findings of the investigation.
Carse could potentially be made unavailable for selection for the remainder of the series or future international tours if the disciplinary process determines that further punishment is warranted. His central contract could also come under scrutiny depending on the outcome of the investigation.
