The pacer was senior to Dhoni, who joined the Indian setup two years after Zaheer but later played under his astute leadership. Meanwhile, the left-arm ace pacer matured under Dhoni’s captaincy, playing 110 matches across formats and taking 221 wickets at 30.53 with a strike rate of 46.5. He was MSD’s top bowler during the 2011 World Cup triumph, where he snapped 21 wickets and ended as the joint highest wicket-taker.
