And that concludes the presentation ceremony and our coverage of this mouth-watering clash. A fitting end to the campaign for one of the best sides in the history of the IPL. But cricketing coverage never ends here at OneCricket and Cricket Exchange. Till the next time, it's a ta-ta and a goodnight from me, Arjun Bhalla and my co-commentators - Anurag Dasgupta, Anurag Singh and Akshay Bhide.
AND THE UNREAL SCENES ARE TURNING REAL. MS Dhoni gets his fourth IPL trophy from BCCI's President Sourav Ganguly and BCCI's Honorary Secretary Jay Shah. And as usual, he receives the trophy and gives it to Deepak Chahar and other juniors to lift the glory up. AND OFF GO THE FIREWORKS!!!!!! AND THE ROAR IS OUT AT LAST!!!!!!
MS Dhoni | Winning Captain: "I think before I talk about CSK, I want to talk about KKR. If any team deserves to win this season's IPL, then it had to be KKR. It is never easy to come back from the situation they were in and kudos to them, they played really well. I think the break really helped them. Now coming back to CSK, we look like the most consistent looking team, but we have also lost finals.
Not letting the opposition in is something we always work on. We really don't talk a lot, it is more of a one-to-one discussion with each players and they are quite open to it. You can't deliver without a good team and we have strong individuals who have performed really well. Right now we were in Dubai, but even when we played in South Africa, we got the same support from everyone.
We've always got good amount of support and hopefully next year we can play in front of the Chennai crowd."
MS Dhoni gets the cheque of INR 20 crores from BCCI's President Sourav Ganguly and BCCI's Honorary Secretary Jay Shah.
Stephen Fleming | Winning Coach: "To get into the final and winning is incredible and we have conquered it. We have received criticism regarding the age of the players but the players have stepped up. Experience plays a major role and we are a bit of an old group but it has worked for us. We don't go too deep in analytics, numbers and believe in instincts."
Eoin Morgan | Losing Captain: "I am extremely proud of the fight that we have shown. Things did not start off well but the fight epitomizes the Kolkata fight. The support we have enjoyed from our owners has been outstanding. The support from the fans has been amazing as well, even after the first leg. Today, it just proved to be a game too many. (On Gill and Iyer) I think they have been outstanding. Gill is a classy cricketer, Venkatesh has a huge future ahead of him. He has a good head on his shoulders and the two have been the cornerstone of our batting. (On Rahul Tripathi) He left everything out there. Unfortunately, he had an injury today but he always tries to contribute in whichever way he can".
Eoin Morgan receives the Runners up Trophy and a cheque of INR 12.5 crore. He'll now have a chat with Harsha Bhogle.
Brendon McCullum | Losing Coach: "We are super proud of what we have achieved. Obviously tonight wasn't ours. Champion side CSK. Just an amazing journey, a wonderful story that we can all remember. When you fall at the final hurdle, there is always a sense of what if. The style of play that we were able to establish in the second half and the young Indian boys at the top of the order were absolutely superb. We hope to continue playing the same way next season. We appreciate all the support that we are getting and hopefully this is something to build on".
