After suffering from back-to-back losses vs GT, and LSG, RCB will be eager to get back to winning ways as they take on the struggling Mumbai Indians in the crucial IPL 2026 match in Raipur, the new home of the defending champions.
RCB were in a comfortable position to reach the IPL playoffs before successive losses halted their momentum. The team now faces an uphill task, even though playoff qualification very much remains in their hands. For the home side, Phil Salt is back in India, but is unlikely to play in the IPL match vs MI.
MI have won 3 of their 10 matches so far. To qualify for the playoffs, they must win all their remaining games and hope other results work in their favour.
Injured Hardik Pandya has joined the squad, and so has Suryakumar Yadav, who recently became a father. MI will aim to dent RCB’s qualification chances, and ahead of the riveting IPL match, we take a look at the RCB Vs MI toss winner.
RCB Vs MI IPL 2026 toss update
RCB won the toss and just like any other game, captain Rajat Patidar was greeted with a rousing reception. RCB have elected to bowl first as Raipur is hosting its first IPL 2026 game, and the players are unfamiliar with the conditions.
Interestingly, despite suffering two losses in a row, RCB have gone in with an unchanged XI. On the other hand, MI have done the same thing, with no changes made. That means, Hardik Pandya once again misses out with a back injury.

RCB Vs MI: What the captains had to say
Rajat Patidar (Royal Challengers Bengaluru Captain): (On the toss) "We will bowl first. The surface looks good and pretty hard, so we’ll try to get early wickets and then go for the chase.
(On playing in Raipur after many years) The conditions are not unfamiliar to us, to be honest. But yes, it’s a new stadium, there are good supporters, and it’s a great atmosphere. I think everyone is looking forward to playing here.
(On bouncing back after recent losses and the team combination) We are going with the same team. We’ve had a couple of losses, but it’s important to stay in the present and play to our strengths. We’ll focus more on ourselves rather than thinking too much about the opposition.
Suryakumar Yadav (Mumbai Indians Captain): "No, we are pretty confident. Big ground, black spoil wicket. Runs on the board and then pressure on the other team. Not really, we are going with the same team. Big game, super Sunday. I think we always had a good chat around that. I think this IPL has been a little harsh on the bowlers. It is what T20 cricket is."
