Though the dust is settling after the IPL 2026, the controversies are not looking to stop. The season was full of drama and controversies, alongside plenty of runs and wickets. After RCB's triumph, they have found themselves into a social media altercation with SRH.
Last Sunday, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru added another trophy in their cabinet under Rajat Patidar's captaincy.
Virat Kohli orchestrated the chase against Gujarat Titans in Ahmedabad, slamming an unbeaten 75 in the chase of 159 runs. Although Kohli bagged the Player of the Match in the IPL 2026 final, it was Rasikh Salam and Bhuvneshwar Kumar who killed the game with the ball.
RCB starts latest feud with SRH after IPL triumph
As RCB scripted history and bagged their second successive trophy, they received praise from all corners, including MI and CSK, the other two franchises with back-to-back titles.
The SRH also joined the long list by posting for the IPL 2026 winners on their X handle. The Hyderabad-based franchise shared a photo of their skipper, Pat Cummins, with Bengaluru's Rajat Patidar, to congratulate them.

While thanking, the RCB admin chose to add a handshake emoji under SRH's post, sparking the Virat Kohli-Travis Head controversy from earlier the season.
What was Virat Kohli-Travis Head handshake saga?
In Match 67 of the IPL 2026, Virat Kohli and Travis Head were involved in an on-field spat during a high-scoring fixture, which RCB lost by 55.
The Aussie SRH opener tried getting under Kohli's skin by provoking him to go for bigger hits in the chase. Although the RCB star responded by asking him to come into bowl, Head's tactics worked as his opposite number was dismissed for 15.
After the game, a furious Kohli decided against shaking hands with Head, and the incident went viral on the internet.
Kohli fans went extreme against Head's wife
The Virat Kohli-Travis Head saga grew to such an extend that some of Kohli admirers went the Australian cricketer's social media to troll, and even abuse him. Some of his fans even crossed the line and took shots at Head's family and friends.
His wife, Jessica Head, had shared about the same while speaking to an Australian publication, The Advertiser amidst the business end of the season.
"It feels like a repeat of the abuse that happened after the World Cup. I woke up to my socials blasting... we are fine but they are attacking my friends and family," Jessica Head had said while sharing her concerns.
Travis Head's love-hate affair with India
Travis Head has had a love-hate relationship with Men in Blue. Otherwise a favourite among SRH fans in IPL 2026, the explosive opener has punished Team India on multiple occasions, breaking their hearts twice in 2023 in the World Cup final and the WTC Final.
Head, who has scored nearly 9000 international runs, has amassed 1901 of those runs against India - the second most against a team. Out of his 19 centuries, four have come against the Men in Blue, making him the biggest headache for them.
