In an unfortunate incident, the Vaibhav Sooryavanshi injury forced the Rajasthan Royals batter to walk off the field during the second half of the IPL 2026 match against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Swashbuckling batter Vaibhav Sooryavanshi sustained his dream run in the IPL 2026, as he hammered a sensational century against SRH

Opening the batting for the Royals, Sooryavanshi hammered 103 runs off just 37 balls with the help of five boundaries and twelve massive sixes. However, when the Sunrisers were cruising towards the target, Sooryavanshi picked up an injury and was taken off the field.

After the match concluded, Rajasthan Royals' assistant coach Vikram Rathour issued the Vaibhav Sooryavanshi injury update.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi injury: How did it all happen?

The incident happened before the start of the fourth over when Rajasthan Royals captain Riyan Parag brought Nandre Burger for his second over. Ishan Kishan had just joined Abhishek Sharma in the middle after Travis Head's departure in the very first over.

As soon as Archer finished his second over, Sooryavanshi fell down on the ground, complaining pain in his hamstring. The in-form batter was attended by the physio before eventually being taken out of the field

In real time, the Vaibhav Sooryavanshi injury seemed scary and something to worry about for the Royals. After Abhishek and Ishan's blistering knocks helped SRH chase the daunting target, RR assistant coach Vikram Rathour issued the Vaibhav Sooryavanshi injury update.

However, the former India coach reckoned that the Vaibhav Sooryavanshi injury isn't serious and he is expected to participate in the upcoming matches.

"He was feeling something in his hamstring but now he's looking okay. They've treated him, so he's looking fine. We'll know in a day or so but doesn't look like anything serious," Rathour stated.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi's stellar form at a glance

Hailed as the next big thing in Indian cricket, Rajasthan Royals' Vaibhav Sooryavanshi set the IPL 2026 on fire with a string of blistering knocks.

The explosive southpaw kicked off his IPL campaign with a quick-fire fifty against CSK before hammering impactful innings against Gujarat Titans, Mumbai Indians and RCB.

Although he was dismissed cheaply against LSG, Sooryavanshi regained his mojo in the blink of an eye, punishing the Sunrisers with a power-packed hundred. Amid Yashasvi Jaiswal's underwhelming run, Sooryavanshi has established himself as RR's go-to batter in the powerplay.

Therefore, the Royals must be hoping for his speedy recovery, with most of their recognised batters, including Riyan Parag and Shimron Hetmyer, struggling to get going in IPL 2026.

When will Rajasthan Royals play their next match?

Led by Riyan Parag, Rajasthan Royals are currently claiming fourth place with five wins across eight matches. They will cross swords against Punjab Kings on April 28 at the Mullanpur Stadium in New Chandigarh.
