The Pakistan government left everyone in utter shock by announcing the boycott of their team’s T20 World Cup 2026 game against India. However, the Pakistan establishment allowed their cricket team to feature in the other scheduled matches of the upcoming prestigious cricket biennial.

“The Government of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan grants approval to the Pakistan cricket team to participate in the ICC World T20 2026. However, the Pakistan cricket team shall not take the field in the match scheduled on 15th February, 2026, against India,” said the Pakistan government in their official X-post.

Given that, here’s a look at the updated schedule of the Pakistan cricket team in the T20 World Cup 2026 after their decision to forfeit the high-octane clash against India.

Here’s a look at Pakistan’s updated schedule in T20 World Cup 2026

As per the pre-planned ICC schedule, Pakistan will start their journey in the T20 World Cup 2026 against the Netherlands in the tournament opener on Saturday, February 7. The inaugural clash of the tournament will be played at the Sinhalese Sports Club Ground in Colombo.

Later on Tuesday, February 10, the Men in Green will face the United States of America in their second game. This game will also be played at the same ground in Colombo. Subsequently, their game against India will stand forfeited, with the Men in Blue getting two points.

On Wednesday, February 18, Salman Agha’s men will take on Namibia in the last group-stage match of their campaign.

If Pakistan advance to the super-eight stage, games will also be played in Sri Lanka, followed by the same pattern for the knockout games, be it their semi-final clash or the final.

Nonetheless, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief, Mohsin Naqvi, publicly issued a statement contradictory to Pakistan's 'boycott India game' move. He said that Pakistan will play India in the semi-finals or the final. So, it will also be interesting to see what ICC or BCCI comes up with in the coming days.

Weather report for Pakistan’s remaining T20 World Cup matches

Amidst the boycott call for the game against India, the remaining matches of Pakistan are also under threat owing to the weather conditions in Sri Lanka. Their campaign opener against the Netherlands on Saturday, February 7, is at risk of being washed out by rain.

As per AccuWeather, the weather in Colombo on Saturday will be cloudy with the ‘cloud cover’ of 54 per cent. The morning sunshine will be followed by the increasing clouds in the afternoon, including some showers for almost one and a half hours.

Speaking of their subsequent games against the USA on February 10 and against Namibia on February 18, the weather is expected to be normal throughout the entire course of the matches.

If any of Pakistan’s remaining three T20 World Cup 2026 games get washed out or ruined by rain, their chances of qualification for the super-eight stage might face a severe dent.

It will also affect their points in the group A points table, which might give an edge to the other participating teams, including the likes of the United States of America, Namibia, or the Netherlands.
