After acing cricket fields, former Indian cricketer and the Chennai Super Kings veteran MS Dhoni has now topped the financial aspects as revealed by the government of India official.
After the Income Tax department's total collection from Jharkhand and Bihar during 2025-2026, MS Dhoni was the highest individual taxpayer across the two states.
Dhoni Becomes The Highest Taxpayer Across Jharkhand and Bihar
According to a Money Control report, a senior IT official said that INR 20,000 crore in tax revenue was collected from the two states of Jharkhand and Bihar. Interestingly, the highest payer of tax emerged to be the Indian cricketer.
"The total collection from Bihar and Jharkhand during the financial year of 2025-26 was around Rs 20,000 crore, of which Rs 12,000 crore was collected only from Jharkhand.
MS Dhoni was the highest individual taxpayer combining Bihar and Jharkhand during the previous financial year," Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax (Bihar -Jharkhand), Dr D Sudhakara Rao, said while addressing the media.
While the exact amount of tax paid by the CSK star hasn’t been revealed in the meeting, it is understood that a large chunk of the revenue came from the Ranchi resident.
An approximate understanding of the tax paid by Dhoni could be analysed by taking his assets and investments into account, while also accounting for his massive brand endorsement deals.
