The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) recently fast-tracked five uncapped players into the Pakistan squad for the impending third Test of the series against England. The five potential debutants were named alongside comeback men Saim Ayub and Abdullah Fazal as part of a major squad overhaul midway into the series.
As it turned out, the PCB was forced to launch a “search operation” for one of those five players soon after naming him in the squad. In a scene that could only be described as a classic Pakistan cricket comedy of errors, the board apparently had no idea where its newly selected player was.
No passport, no contact number as PCB search for Razaullah
One of the seven Pakistan cricketers fast-tracked into the national squad for the third Test against England is young Razaullah, a Peshawar Region player and a Khyber Pakhtunkhwa resident.
Yet to play any international cricket for Pakistan so far, the 21-year-old resides in the hilly areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

While the PCB selected the youngster specifically for the final match of the England tour, the board was unable to trace the cricketer. Moreover, Razaullah’s contact number was also unreachable, prompting the board to contact the youngster’s coach instead.
In a classic case of PCB’s mismanagement, the coach reportedly went looking for the 21-year-old. As reported by Pakistan journalist Ejaz Wasim Bakhri, the coach asked Razaullah to rush to Lahore immediately so his passport can be arranged and get his UK visa biometrics completed.
Who is Razaullah?
Razaullah, aged 21, is a young fast-bowling all-rounder in Pakistan’s domestic structure. Earlier this year, he made his PSL debut for the Rawalpindiz franchise in the PSL 2026 season under the leadership of Mohammad Rizwan.
Unfortunately for the youngster, he received just two opportunities in the Rawalpindiz playing XI, picking up three wickets in the process at an average of 27.66.
However, the Mardan-born cricketer holds an exceptional record with the ball in first-class matches. In just 14 innings spanning eight outings, the right-arm fast bowler has picked up 30 wickets at an average of 20.86.
He is also a handy lower-order batter, and has already scored a first-class century in his brief career and averages a healthy 27.75 with the bat.
Razaullah joins Babar Azam and co. in England
Razaullah has now joined the Pakistan camp in England just in time for the upcoming third Test of the series. The match will be hosted by Edgbaston in Birmingham between September 9 and September 13 this week.
He is one of the five uncapped players fast-tracked into the Pakistan squad alongside Arafat Minhas, Mohammad Imran Jnr, Saad Baig and Mohammad Imran Randhawa.
The PCB made the decision to revamp the team after Pakistan succumbed to a huge 194-run defeat at Lord’s in London last week to go 0-2 down in the three-match series.
